Spin
It only took 16 innings, but the second seeded Golden Flushes finally got on the scoreboard. It wasn't enough as Bowling Green eliminated them from the tournament 6-3 in the "losers bracket".
ZachTheZip
CMU gets eliminated. That's the #1 and #2 seeds gone before anybody else. Crazy.
Spin
Another back-and-forth game, but this time the Zips lose 9-6 to David Letterman U. Now we play Toledo in the loser's bracket for a chance to play Ball St. again Saturday.

ZachTheZip
Pretty cool that the coach's son scored the winning run on his dad's 600th win.
ZachTheZip
The Zips were down 8-1 to Ball State in the bottom of the 9th, but score 8 runs to win the game! ZachTheZip
For being seeded 8th out of 8 teams, I'd say the team exceeded expectations.
GJGood
When it comes to Akron baseball no lead in the 9th inning is safe, whether it be the Zips with the lead or their opponent. What a crazy two games. 8 runs in the bottom of 9 to win game one followed by giving up 4 or 5 in the bottom of nine in game two to lose in walk-off fashion. I've never seen, or even heard of, any team having a day quite as dramatic as that.

Spin
SP JT Brubaker was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 6th round of the MLB Draft and OF Joey Havrilak was drafted in the 18th round by Detroit.JT will be playing for Pitt's short A team in Morgantown WV and Joey will probably see time with Connecticut of the NYPenn League (home of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers).

ZippyRulz
I just discovered Mike Birkbeck's kid went to GlenOak and is a pitcher for the Flashes. Of course, Mike has been a long time coach there.
