Z-P Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 How about a list of local watering holes which are going to prominently show the game? Quote
bobbyake Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Dante's GameDay Grill is a good sports bar in Akron that will most likely have the game on Quote
Valpo Zip Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I am not too worried about PSU, i can get ESPN2 at home. The problem is in the second game. Who the hell gets ESPNU ? the university should provide some big screen arrangement. Quote

Who the hell gets ESPNU ? the university should provide some big screen arrangement. Nobody would want to pay for it........There will be 50 bars around Akron with the ability to get ESPNU. Winking Lizard is one, BW3 is another, Jillians is another, Damons is another, Gipettos (sp?) at Chapel Hill is another.......... Quote

I was just cracking wise about our fan base...........They will all probably have it. Winking Lizard for sure should have it. I've watched other games on ESPNU out there. If you are a student and live on campus, Panini's will probably have it downtown. They had the basketball game from Nevada there last year. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Which Winking Lizard do you reccomend? The one near Montrose or the one in the Valley on 303? I've been to both, just not on Akron game days. Great food, fun atmosphere. Quote
Valpo Zip Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Thanks a lot for the info. I am a student but i can drive to fairlawn and watch the game at the winking lizard. It seems that they are the only bar that supprt zips athetics around here so i think that i would go spend my money over there. Quote
RowdyZip Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 http://paninisakron.com/Pages/PanEvents.htmhere's where i'll be, good deals and dozens of tvs if you've never been. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 The Michigan Chaper of the Akron Zips Fan Club will be watching the game at BW3 in Fenton, Mi. For my sake, I hope to GOD that they have ESPNU for the other games! (Baby Zip is putting a damper on football this year) Quote
fear the brown roo Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 don't forget that unfortunately ohio state plays at the same time as the zips.....is any place going to have the zips on the big screen and not ohio state? i mean asides from my basement. Quote
Z.I.P. Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 How about a list of local watering holes which are going to prominently show the game?Okay, folks. Who's interested in joining me at Eastside Grill on Varsity Avenue near the University of Hawaii? I'll be there for Breakfast with the Zips. Two years ago it was me and half-a-dozen Nittany Lion alums. Have you heard, Pam Ward is calling play-by-play for ESPN2. Goodie! Quote
Zipsrifle Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Rowdy Zip, like the License Plate......I'll have to get mine up there (I had the pick of the litter here in Michigan) Quote
