bobbyake Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 How are we going to watch the Akron vs CMU game????? I had a great time watching the game at Panini's against Penn State, and at Johnny Malloy's against NC State. I really hope someone picks this game up so that I can enjoy another Akron Zips game on TV Quote
liljc Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I agree. Can it even be done? Are there rules about that type of thing? Quote
Bleacher Bum Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 GoZips.com's schedule says "Comcast" under media. I'm not exactly sure what this means since Comcast was bought out by Time Warner Cable. But it could provide a shed of hope that someone will be covering it. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 If that's the case, they might televise it on channels 17 or 23, depending on when the Indians game is. Quote
Zip_ME87 Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Unfortunately, I think that refers to Comcast in Michigan, but I'm not 100% certain. Quote
midlandchip Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 If you really want to see the game I'm here to tell you the round trip can be made in one day with no problem. I know it can be done because I did it in in reverse a couple years ago to watch a CMU-Akron basketball game. I drove to Akron, watched the game and then drove back to Midland, MI (near Mt. Pleasant) in a snow storm. But I will admit one needs to be some sort of nutty college sports fan to do something like that. Quote
bobbyake Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 going to the game isn't an option for me, I have a class on Saturdays at 10:10 to 11:50 Quote
Zipsrifle Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 It is a bit of a haul, but it can be done. I've driven my @$$ from Flint to Akron for Home games for the past 6 years. It's about a 6 hour drive from Akron to Mt. Pleasant. If you don't stop for food and haul, you could probably knock an hour off of that drive. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Unfortunately, I think that refers to Comcast in Michigan, but I'm not 100% certain.click here for info, I'm not positive what COMLOC meansGet on board Akron media. Wake up!How about a rebroadcast of NCST game? This is an email from WKYC We will have coverage of the Zips in tonight’s 6:30 pm newscast. Thanks for writing. Chris HyserExecutive ProducerAkron-Canton NewsAlso from Chris on the best chance of seeing the game:You can try Bill Jasso, at Time Warner Cable. His e-mail address is bjasso@neo.rr.com Chris Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 looks like "COMLOC" is short for Comcast Local... in this case, Southfield, MI. (I clicked on the "COMLOC" link and it showed the station info) Quote
zff Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 This looks to be your only chance to watch the Zips....Watch Zips Here Quote
Moose Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Did anyone tape the akron verus NCS game. My son is a player and I am looking for a copy of the game Quote
bobbyake Posted September 11, 2006 Author Report Posted September 11, 2006 there's a clip of the game on YouTube.com, there might be one on metacafe.com as well. If not those 2, try Break.com. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Here is an update (Monday):Email from Hunter:Currently we are working with the staff at Comcast to broadcast the CMU-Akron game in the Akron/Cleveland market. The only thing that I can tell you is that the door is still open, but we are working on a tight time frame to make this happen. If this does not happen, the Mid-American Conference website; www.mac-sports.com, will be streaming the game live through the XOS video feed at the stadium. Quote
Dr Z Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Today's update (Tuesday).Email from exec at Time Warner:We are working right now to try and obtain the game. I will keep you posted. So it seems that the University wants it, Time Warner wants it, seems to be in their hands now.Not much more "you" or I can do. We will just wait for the big announcement... Buckzip Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 If we keep winning, the coverage will come.. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 If we keep winning, the coverage will come.. How do you suggest we keep winning enough to get coverage before the game at CMU next week? Quote
