RowdyZip Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...0&ATCLID=604878props to media relations for throwing in the link to vote for DK as USA Today P.O.W. Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 12, 2006 Author Report Posted September 12, 2006 P.S.Go here--> http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...-the-week_x.htmand vote...it ends at noon. OSU guy is gaining ground. FAST. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Fan vote only counts for 1/3 of the total. The other 2/3 are determined by two sports writers (1/3 each). If we win the vote, then it would only take one of them to agree with us for Kennedy to win the USA Today Player of the Week award! Keep it up...less than an hour left!Flex that ZipsNation muscle! zen Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 good point trimmybut what happens if DK wins fan voting, and the sports writters each vote for someone different?3 way tie? Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 12, 2006 Author Report Posted September 12, 2006 nice to see i'm not the only one voting. i've noticed each time i hit the button there's a couple more votes up there. i was hoping it wasnt some kids in an osu dorm. Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 12, 2006 Author Report Posted September 12, 2006 oh. and i'd hope the fan vote would count for more. interesting question though. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 zen, good question. I have no idea. The blurb at the top of the webpage doesn't say. I guess we'll just have to wait and see knowing that we did our part. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 I think we're going to win the fan vote! We came on strong last night to take the lead, but Boise State took it back overnight. Another great response from the Nation has allowed us to pull ahead for good! This speaks volumes to the strenth and pride of the ZipsNation! Quote
Buckzip Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Congrats. That is well deserved. Quote

This speaks volumes to the strenth and pride of the ZipsNation!Yeah, I noticed that too this morning, and I am convinced atleat one, or several people were vigilantly repeat-voting for the Boise State player.... so I now no longer feel so bad for all the votes I put in. They tried really hard and seemed like they kept going all last night through the nite, but there were more of us and he just couldn't match up. :rock:The odd thing is that the OSU LB came back out of no where this morning after dropping to 3rd place last night. But I tend to doubt that OSU had people repeat voting. I am guessing that someone posted a link to the poll somewhere. OSU is a big school. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 My clock says 12:01! It looks like we won the fan vote! Now let's just hope that at least one of the sports writers agrees with us!I wonder if the winner will be published in Wednesday's print edition of USA Today? Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 It should be published sometime today. I can't wait! Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 I don't get it...it's 5 minutes after the deadline and votes are still being compiled. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Crap. James Laurinaitis of OSU won. Both of those guys must've agreed on him. Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 That figures! I'm pissed! Quote
Zip N' Dots Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 The OSU/Texas game was probably the only one the reporters watched and were knowledgeable about. Stupid Reporters! Quote
Blue & Gold Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Ouch! Having a Columbus State player win just adds insult to injury. Ignorant, biased reporters, the OSU/Texas game is probably the only game they had a clue about! Man, that would have been some fantastic pub in USA Today! But we did win the fan voting!!! The Nation rocks! Let's keep it up! Go Zips!!! Quote
