Well, the faculty is threatening to strike. If the board is going to make their move, now's the time.

That makes no sense.  Why would the faculty threatening give leverage to absorbing ITT Tech?  I don't see the connection...or the advantage.  The absorption of ITT Tech would face the same criticism irregardless of contract negotiations.

Per Akron Ohio Student Association:

Pavloff was also asked for his opinion and thoughts on the now-ended ITT deal. Pavloff explained that this idea was brought to the Board by the Chairman of the Board of Regents and that the Board had not sought out his deal. They were never in discussion with the actual owners of ITT. According to Pavloff, “The idea was to shut down ITT, have the government address all of those issues with the states attorney generals, and basically have a clean sheet operation from that point forward when ITT shut down… This was “ITT will go away””. And on day one someone new would take over the academic operations of ITT to provide educational opportunities for those 50,000 students. That would have been the University of Akron.” It was mentioned from there that it would make more sense to students for the Board and other administrators to focus on the increasing problems at the main campus and satellite campus' before trying to take over a network of other locations.

Let me make sure that I am understanding this: This whole dumpster fire of an idea was hatched by the Chairman of the State Board of Regents?

Should have shoved it down the throat of the school in Franklin County, it it would have got that far.
