I think Joe said it at the end of the game.....the city of Akron was pretty excited about the Zips after their win last week and now this loss. How many people would have come today with a win that will sit at home next week. I'm not talking about die hard fans...I'm talking about the fair weather fans. Couple this loss with a Can't win against Miami and it was a bad Saturday for Akron.

I think this loss certainly kept Akron from a sell-out. We'll have 20k, but not 25k.The wild card would be if the Beacon pimps the North Texas game hard. If they do, a sell out is still possible. Can't saved themselves with the Miami win. They'll get 25k vs. Akron in two weeks. Had the been "tyipcal Can't" they would have drawn 20k...mostly Akron fans.In a nut shell...if the Beacon falls back to their former self...Akron lost 5k today and Can't gained 5k.

There was a definite buzz around town after NC St. We'll have to see how it plays out, but this horrible showing up at Central is not going to help. Sure, we'll all be there, but the buzz will certainly die down after Saturday's debacle. Some radio ad's and a push from the Beacon would help. Either way, I'll be there, early and ready to go.

This will curb some enthusiasm, but I still think more people are aware of the program. I am sure there are a lot of band wagon jumpers, but even for them, it takes more than 1 loss to jump back off. We need to go on a winning streak to get some new band wagon fans.

Attendance is not going to be good this year. Two reasons why I think that...1) The Central Michigan lost. The Zips had a ton of momentum going into Saturday's game. Local and national media giving them attention, students taking notice. The loss (althought it's not necessarily fair) killed a lot of that. 2) Weather. Fans simply don't come out to the Rubber Bowl when the weather is bad. I mean...I know it was REALLY bad weather, but if you have a near empty house against your rival while playing for the MAC East title, that hurts. 3 of the 5 home games are in November. Ouch.

 25,000 would be a sell-out in the Rubber Bowl? I though the RB held around 40,000.I'm going to game on Saturday with my three-year old. We're coming from Columbus, Ohio. I hope to see a full hous eor close to it.JB

The official figures are 31,000 but larger crowds with SRO (standing room only) have witnessed events at the Rubber Bowl. The stadium has the whole end zone seating covered over so 25,000 might even be a bit high an estimate.

the RB's capacity has been listed in the past at 35,202, but the past few years has been listed at 31,000. i thought the covering of the end-zone seats was the reason for the reduction in listed seating capacity.

i love the enthusiasm of this site, but in realistic the sell out at thr bowl can not be over 22 k All of those seat covers they added blocked out at least 8k seats so there is no way that there is more than 20 if that were even a possibliity i am guessing 12k. MAX
