wimbledonfc Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 I wished I could post my pic of Ezana's no goal. He was definitely level and the linesman was 8 yards behind the play. That would of made it 3-0 game over. Also, their backup keeper should havexpect been sent off for the hand ball outside the box. Never seen a keeper do that and stay in the game. Still got 2 OT'S to win this!!! Quote
TennZip Posted September 20, 2016 Author Report Posted September 20, 2016 this loss really hurts.... especially after Niko's pass was just a tad too high for Ezana 1 Quote
bigzipguy Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Anybody remember when the Zips let a two goal lead get away and lost??? Quote
bigzipguy Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Zips are, in my opinion, in at least slight danger of not making the NCAA's. In the attacking third is a lot of guys trying to beat double teams. Of course this is coming from a person , who although has watched a lot of soccer, never played the game. Quote

I mean, I'm sure we'll drop with a loss to an unranked team. But, with our SOS and a ranking that should still stay in the Top 20, I don't think we're in any danger right now. Can anyone here with more knowledge of our past NCAA invites (or snubs) provide any info. where we've possibly been in this situation in the past, and been left out of the NCAAs? Quote

bigzipguy Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 skip-zip, You make a very good point. But things have to change now. Do you agree with my point I made about the attacking third? It used to be that , once we got near the 18, there was an excellent chance of at least 1 great shot on goal. Now??? Quote
fknbuflobo Posted September 20, 2016 Report Posted September 20, 2016 Zips are not (yet) in danger of missing the tournament. We. would likely get an at-large bid even if we do not win the MAC. But our seeding would be awful, pretty much meaning an early exit. Teams with NCAA seeds lower than 8 usually do not make the College Cup. Very rarely do teams below 16 advance to College Cup (if ever). We cannot afford to stumble much more. Quote
