He promised then-UA President Norm Auburn a 100-piece band, which he delivered, then nearly doubled it the second year."Richard Jackoboice took over from Paul Winters and developed the Uiverstiy of Akron Band into the outstanding unit that it is today. I remember the first time Jackoboice conducted the band he took over. I was blow away. What an improvement! It was the start of a band to be proud of. We all owe him a debt for his contribution to the U of A. Quote

Hope we play "More", "Temptation", etc. to honor the "Chief"...the ABJ story was a great reflection of "Chiefs" effect he had on mnay of us.Come to the football game!!!
