Assuming that Brookhart is on the right track (which, of course, some of us question), the question remains (as inferred from a Will Rogers quote, to wit):"Even if your on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."Is Brookhart sitting or locomoting?

TETT! (Too early to tell), but I have a bad feeling! With ball ammunition lock and load. :D And of course :screwks:
I agree. However, even though this season is a disappointment, we beat a BCS team in their house  and we've won a league championship :champs: and made a bowl appearance. Now I don't know if you can attribute all of that to JD or not, but I do know that I feel pretty good about the direction of the football program. We're going to learn a lot next year. Also, lets hope the stadium issue takes on more clarity.By the way, did I mention that :screwks:

the good things is see with jd is the defense. we held the two of three best teams in the mac to 17 points. considering our offense did nothing to help them i thought the defense played pretty well.the one good thing is we only scored 7points in the last two games.the offense played so bad that they really could not play much worse next year.when you have negative yardage rushing over the last two games if we have a back gain one yard it's better than last year. the kicking game can't get much worse either. if jd can bring in a guy who can make extra points, and not get fg 's blocked that will be an improvement. it's going to get better next year for the kicking game, and offense simply because they can't get much worse.

"it's going to get better next year for the kicking game, and offense simply because they can't get much worse"Racer, respectfully I'm not sure that is a given. Here's how I see it. We will have an unproven QB, a mostly new O line w/no depth, a running back (Kennedy) who gets happy feet trying to fake out everyone to get wide to running space rather than hit the hole with authority, no proven TE who can block a tackle and get open, an undersized FB, and a leftover poor kicking game. Our offensive play calling was nothing to be proud of either. That's too much to improve in one season. True our receivers could be the best in the MAC, but we have too many holes to fill. For me the most critical concern is the line where games are won or lost. If JD can find guys with size, skill and heart we can recover. I doubt it though. For what it's worth I hope I'm wrong.I believe we need to brace for a disappointing year.

You guys are funny! Is JD on the right track? One title, two winning seasons in 3 years, a bowl appearance and the top recruiting class in the conference two straight years. I cannot believe how quickly he spoiled all of you.

I cannot believe how quickly he spoiled all of you. As discussed on other threads, those recruiting classes were top rated based on many players that never qualified. Of the guys that qualified, I don't even know if we are in the middle of the pack.

The jury's out on Brookhart regarding the right or wrong track, as Zip81 nicely noted, "we're going to learn a lot next year". I do know that a guy named Mack hopes that JD is on the right Rhoades, cuz those two are riding together.

2007 is the year by which to judge JD. These are primarily going to be his guys in his scheme. We can't continue making the same stupid mistakes (penalties and turnovers in praticular) that we've made this year. I'd really like to get rid of this ridiculous gimmick defense. Even with a good rover like Mackey it is way to suspect against the run. The MAC is changing right now. In the years to come the teams that will win will have mobile QB's, good ground games and be able to stop the run (both by RB's and by QB's). We have mobile QB's in Jackson and Hakes. But I worry about our ability to stop the run.

we gave up 17 points each to two of the best teams in the mac.meanwhile our offense has negative yards rushing, and 7 points in two games.im 100 times more worried about our offense than defense.
