johnnyzip84 Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 We can't say that JD's not hitting the OL's pretty hard, like he said he would. He's also using the JUCO route with some as he suggested he might. This class is looking like it might top all of the others!

I know in years past it's been that way but I think the better we get the better quality recruits we're getting(athletically and academically). Our two 2 star OL are definitely getting in, Estrada should be here in spring, and Simkovich was in good enough standing for Michigan State to take him so I'm sure he'll be fine. This class will be solid that's for sure. The line is such an important part of a football team so as we might not be seeing headlines about this years class next season, they could be the most important class in the past few years. Just off the top of my head.Mark Jackson, Daron Smith, Stoudamire, DJ Henderson Shawn Lemon. There are a few more that I can't recall right now.These guys, plus Boone, are what made this class highly ranked.
RACER Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 i like the idea of jd going the jc route for a few ol.while it's not the ideal situation to get alott of jc guys; i don't think we have much choice at the ol position. when rush for negative yards they better improve the ol in a hurry.you just don't find to many high school ol guys that can come in and start right away.

David Harvey, Aaris Reed, Sean Hakes, and Igor Iveljic are why last years class was highly rated. I mean c'mon, here's the reasons for each player...Harvey- Obviously his play this year speaks for itself, but he was once a 4 star recruit and had offers from Ohio State among many big schools.Reed- Had offers from North Carolina and was getting all kinds of interest elsewhere and he chose us.Hakes- At one point had an Ole Miss offer (til their Offensive Staff was fired), along with Colorado State, BG and he chose us.Iveljic- Last but certainly not least, the #6 kicker in the NATION!!! I know he didn't play this year but he's gonna be a stud... you don't get ranked that high for no reason. I see these guys being way more valuable to Akron's future then the guys we lost. And with the class we're putting together I have no worries.

It is not yet known what he will do.Stoudemire is taking classes at The University of Akron.Shawn Lemon is taking classes at The University of Akron.It is BS to include kids that are taking classes at U of A in your list of "Those Who Didn't Make It. " DJ Henderson, who's pumping gas in Florida, is in no way to be tossed in the same group with a Shawn Lemon, who will likely play 4 seasons for the Zips.I take some pride in keeping the information on this board as accurate as possible. If some idiot with an agenda starts posting inaccuracies...like saying students that are enrolled in school have dropped out...people tend to believe it. Stop it with that shit. This board is not a place for anyone to push their little BS agendas, whether they want to post 50 times that they hate OSU, or they want to post 50 times that enrolled U of A students are no longer with the program. Both personal agendas are equally BS and won't be tolerated. If any of those student athletes drops out, I will be the first to let you know.
