StandingZip
How EMABARRASSED were you to attend the Tommie Evans Lounge prior to the game against St. Francis!! The cauliflower and broccoli tray topped with sausage bites are well worth the $4,500 donation sent to the the Akron Athletic Department. We should feel honored that Sam's Club was open 10 minutes before the lounge opened so food would be available for the VIP guest. Wait, I just got it, the Athletic Department (aka: Marketing Department) are the VIP's (Very Incompetent Personnel). How ironic that the Marketing Department designs a $1.00 ticket night and the meal served at the Tommie Evans Lounge was from the value meal section at McDonald's. At least their theme is consistent. "Yes, I'd like a biggie fry with my season tickets and my guest would like a couple pieces of cauliflower!!"Seriously, you asked the fans to reach out and bring someone who normally does not attend a game. After convincing the prospective season ticket holder what a great venue and value a ticket is, the introduction to the evening is an EMBARRASSING tray of appetizers instead of the normal meal. So when did the memo go out warning the patrons the meal changed so make sure you take your guest out to eat before the game? Your right, it didn't go out (can't spend the $.39).Can hardly wait for the pregame meal for the Nevada game, souerkraut balls and leftover soda from a smashed crate at Rex's Salvage. Now that's VIP treatment.
FearTheRoo
I've not had the hono (dishonor?) to attend prior to the game, but that sounds flat out embarrassing.
Hilltopper
They didn't announce it but Marie Antoinette is now in charge of customer relations for the atheletic department.
skip-zip
I was in the Tommie Evans lounge last night as someone's guest. I did hear several people question why there was no real food, and the people doing the serving said, "dinner food will only be served during weekend games this year, and appetizers for the weekday game". I agree, if I were a big-money donor, I'm sure I would be a wee bit miffed.
Randolph Duke
They should just slap a keg in the lounge and break out a crock pot of beenie weenies and toothpicks... klass.
