zff
There is not much info on this guy. I see him as a DB. Captain Kangaroo
150 lbs? Must be a pretty fast kid? I couldn't find much about him on the web either (as opposed to Tuzze, who is plastered everywhere). Maybe it's because he plays in the metro DC area and doesn't have a "local" paper (Washington Post only devotes so much space to HS football).? Who knows...two early verbals is 2 more than we've ever had, so I'll take it.
Guest Guest_Z.I.P.
150 lbs., and only runs 4.5? This sounds like one that LO passed over. But let's remember, just because a kid is able to get himself listed as a "verbal" commitment, doesn't mean the school has made any commitment to HIM. I saw a few references to his HS having some good track athletes, but his name wasn't listed. Hopefully we can let this be the one that got away. zff
Theinsiders.com has him listed a little different than rivals.com. I still see him as a CB or WR and not a QB. Guest Guest_SoFlaZip
This is not to be critical of LO buuuuuut LO would not have passed on him because LO would not have recruited him. Obviously this guy is major D1A material. When is the last time you remember LO recruiting against the likes of Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Marshall, let lone succeding. More like Youngstown State, Cornell, and Western Kentucky - WITH A QUESTIONABLE SUCCESS RATE AT BEST. Plus he is not from that infamous Summit County- Stark County line hot bed of football recruits. JD is doing a fabulous job of improving the quality of recruits. I'll take a 4-5 major D1A player coveted by Syracuse over a 4.425 mid-major/D1AA player coveted by Can't State any day. DC Metro is driping in major D1A "PLAYERS" looking for someone to give them a chance. JD obviously has cred with someone in the DC area (look at the 2004 recruits). This guy, with his 4-5 speed, and the league he plays in, not only is probably better than 90% of the mid-major/D1AA players LO brought in at the so called skilled position, but his early committment to Akron lends even greater credibility to the quality of recruit and the direction JD is taking the Zips and the Zip's image in the DC Metro. Some of you may recll that Wayne Woodrow Hayes just could'nt get enough DC Metro "PLAYERS" and I can't also (4-5 speed nothwithstanding). Thank God for JD and his recruitment coordinator.
