Captain Kangaroo Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Offensive Preview Seriously...can someone explain this one? As of the golf outing Pry was gushing over the guy's progress at WR? He's not inelligible, because he's listed at QB. Is someone trying to be sneaky? It wouldn't surprise me, since all the practices and scrimmages are closed to the public. Someone tell me what's the dillio! Quote
Z-P Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 CK........... I'm just guessing here.........but I'm betting the dealio is that this staff has placed game one vs PSU into a "Manhattan Project" status. They want this so bad, they'll do anything to protect and preserve every bit of "the unknown" Paterno and his staff will be facing. Relax. This is going to be fun. Dillio? That's a gal's little buddy isn't it? Quote
zff Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 I agree Z-P. This game would put them and the university on the map. Dillio? That's a gal's little buddy isn't it? Classic!!!!! Quote
zipsbandman Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Also, notice that NONE of the practices are open to the public. Just about every other MAC school has a couple practices open. The zips must really be going for the win at Happy Valley as well as the paycheck. Quote
Zip Watcher Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Aren't they ALWAYS "really going for the win" ?? I hope so. Quote
Zipsrifle Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Yea, I think that that is one big advantage we'll have over PSU, we definately have the element of suprise. I'm sure that JD will have as much of the playbook as possible ready for use, holding nothing in reserve. On the other hand, PSU will probably want to leave a few tricks up their sleeve for later on. They probably don't want to blow their playbook on a MAC School. Do you think that JD will mix things up a lot early in the game to keep them guessing or do you think he'll come out pretty straight forward and try new things as the game goes on? Part of me thinks that if we can pull out the stops early on, get up on PSU, they might regress into last years mentality. But, if you use up all your tricks at the beginning, there won't be much to catch them off guard with if it's close late in the game. Like I've stated before, I hope that we can keep the mistakes to a minimum. If we can do that, we'll make a game of this one. IMO, if we're in this one, we keep showing them new things as the game goes on and keep them guessing till the 4th. When you get down and need to catch up, that hasn't been pretty for us. Honestly, in the last few years, we've been able to play with the BCS Schools. We just have made inopportune mistakes or just don't have that little push to get over the top. Hopefully JD is the key to change that. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 11, 2004 Author Report Posted August 11, 2004 By the way...no mention of Kennedy in the RB overview either? I thought he was elegible? Another deception...or is he expected to redshirt? Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted August 11, 2004 Author Report Posted August 11, 2004 For what it's worth, I think the best way to beat PSU is to jump on them early with Frye, then start the second quarter with Jabari or Ferguson. I'm telling you...rotating the qb's is a CAN'T MISS proposition vs. PSU! (that's one head bang for every year since Owens tried that one...still one of the Top 3 dumbest things I ever saw a college football coach do.) Quote
Guest Coolio Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 One practice will be open to the Season Ticket Hodlers on Thursday, Aug 26 from 5-7 p.m. I will be there. Quote
