Dr Z Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 In case you are not able to go to basketball games for whatever reason. This has been playing during timeouts for the past two years. (the first part is my favorite)Click here to watch Zippy "Thriller" movieHats off to all involved in the making Quote
Bleacher Bum Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 It's even better when the crowd boos the other mascots then screams when Zippy destroys them! Quote
Blue & Gold Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Honestly, on a scale of 1-to-10, that easily ranks a 10! It's excellent. Quote
zipseuph Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 how long has that thing been around?I heard someone talk say that it's actually older than two years and they just haven't used it in a while Quote
Bleacher Bum Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I think they started using it right after the Fear the Roo logo became big, which was right after the football team won the MAC East last year. Quote
GoZips88 Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I love that kind of stuff. Not sure why it may be frowned upon by some but my family LOVES it. All of us boo and cheer when that thing plays at the JAR. The Can't chicken hawk is CLASSIC . Thanks for making the real deal available. Downloaded and safely stored away for occasional viewing. skip-zip Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 That started playing sometime during the 2005-2006 season. Quote
FearTheRoo Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 .....however you haven't seen it much this year because the new "regime" doesn't like. Of course, because it's good, popular and an overwhelming majority like it, the Athletic department has to pull it/limit it's use. Is it really that hard when it comes to marketing?? Quote
zipseuph Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I can understand how they wouldn't want it to become overused. truth be told, last year when they played it every game I kinda got sick of it. it's a great video that they did an awsome job on but if you see it every single time it's gonna get old no matter what it is. Quote
Bleacher Bum Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I think they should be playing it more, especially now that the band plays "Thriller!" It makes sense. Quote
bobbyake Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 i love it, especially the part where Zippy throws a buckeye at Brutus. That's probably why you don't see it as much, the people that go to Zips games with there children wearing OSU attire probably complained about it. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 I remember when it debuted, most on this board were happy that the Zips drew a line in the sand with OSU. They are competition. If you're a Zips fan, ya better not be an OU fan, an OSU fan, a Can't fan, a Cleveland State fan, or a Pitt fan. I suppose if ya like Cal or USC or UCLA... well, who cares. That'd be far off enough not to be real competition. But NOT Columbus State or Pitt!!!! They're called COMPETITION, folks! But I think it's kinda funny seeing old grandpa-dudes coming into the JAR with Buckeye stuff on. Those old geezers out for a nice evening. They should be welcomed with open arms. I don't think anyone should get on someone for ignorance. But I think it's good to see the U beginning to mark their territory, so to speak. Quote

Otherwise, that is a sad testament to parenting. Quote
