I assume that if this happens, that soccer would be included (article only mentions basketball)

IMHO, this would make the Big East a stronger league for soccer

Husted joined Missouri Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt on Wednesday in sending a letter to Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman urging the conference to admit the University of Dayton and Saint Louis University, citing the schools’ alignment with the Big East’s mission and their strong basketball programs.

He's right that those schools do fit the profile well. Given the state of politics, I think Senators should focus on things other than the athletic alignment of their alma maters. I'm sure if there was mutual interest, these schools would have already joined the Big East.

And I'd really like for this not to happen because if it does, there's a good possibility that Akron becomes the odd man out since they're only an associate member in soccer. If both schools join then maybe they'd be safe.

We should go Jesuit/private, merge with John Carroll and join the BE.
