zff
I just found out Porky Dudich passed away yesterday. Many know him as the person who ran Porky's Place in the JAR. He would have turned 88 this month. To me he was and still is Mr. University of Akron. The new battle cry for the basketball team: Win it for Porky. Big Zip
So sorry to hear about Porky -- he was fun to talk with when he worked at the University and there aren't many people cared more about the UA athletic progams than him. Would love to see a championship game at the "Q" on national TV that featured signs reading this one's for Porky!
urbanpreppie05
My first year as an Orientation Leader in 2001, we used to take all of our groups to Porky's in the JAR. He will be missed.
JP Morgan
I bought my first Akron t-shirt at Porky's in 1993!
skip-zip
I was sitting on the floor for a game earlier this season, and noticed something very interesting.....Porky was having some trouble walking, and was getting escorted back and forth from his seat in lower reserved by a high-ranking member of the athletic dept. That's how much this University loved him, and his contributions to the school. He is indeed Mr. Akron.
