timmyboy
I just heard an interview with him and he said that as of last night he was granted his release to transfer from Notre Dame an he said his top 3 schools right now are Texas Tech, Hawaii and the University of Akron. After watching his highlight film on rivals.com i am starting to think he would be a good addition to our team, but we already have 3 QB's fighting for the job now and in a few weeks Rodgers will be joining the team and adding to that QB battle. What do you guys think, is it worth letting him join the team even thought he will have to sit out as year due to NCAA transfer rules? (by the time he will be able to play he will be a junior)
sgm405
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2899577ESPN Story"Frazer plans to visit up to five schools as early as this week. Among the schools with mutual interest are Rutgers, UConn, Miami, Louisville and East Carolina.Several MAC programs have also inquired about the strong-armed, 6-foot-5, 226 pound redshirt freshman."--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------That article doesn't seem to be as positive as the radio interview you discussed when talking about the Zips' chances of getting him. skip-zip
Even if one of the current QB's emerges as a clear starter, you would always want to bring someone else in if you think he might be better than what you have. Even if he would only have two years of eligibility. At many schools, two years as a starter is common for a QB. Let me add one more thing. As a MAC-level school, you're often looking for good athletes to fill many positions. And many times, a QB who does not become a starter can fill those other needs. Over 25 years of watching Zips football, I could rattle off an endless list of players recruited as high school QB's who become outstanding players at other positions. So, in my opinion, you can never have enough QB's.
zipboy
I agree, you never turn down a QB who has the chance to start. I like our guys but depth is good.
Zipmeister
Z's thought process:Hawaii.....Akron......Hawaii.........Akron.......Hawaii....... Akron........hhhhhhmmmmmmmm.My thoughts: his addition to the team has the potential to really mess up team chemistry.
Dr Z
Asked JD about Zach. He said we don't have room for him.
