Dr Z
click "view all categories"click on "best nfl player"vote for "jason taylor"PS I would guess best upset was because OSU was favored, FU blew them out on every level, and it was on the biggest stage. That's the one I voted for.
Blue & Gold
Most excellent. Just voted for JT.Of course I also voted LeBron for Best Male Athlete. And of course voted for the Gators over the Gator-bait Suckeyes!!! That was delicious!Though not voting for the Golden State Warriors upset of the Dallas Mavericks was tough.
Zipgrad01
You Buckeye bashers crack me up. Can you say little mans syndrome? I can!!
zippyrifle32
i don't know how you can call gator supporters "little" when clearly they have established their dominance in both basketball and football with national titles (beating the buckeyes in the process). just because someone chooses to be a gator supporter when they play osu is just coincidence
Zipgrad01
Yeah, I am sure they are all die hard Gator supporters. Some people on this site are ridiculous. They think getting their digs in on big bad OSU it will somehow improve Akron and the perception of the universities athletics programs. You want to know how to improve Akron? Win and win on a consistent basis. Until then nobody will ever respect the program statewide or nationally and nobody will ever give a seconds thought to anything but Ohio State. Why? Because Ohio State does win. I have said it before, it is like the jealous little brother. He can't beat big brother at anything, so he hates on him instead of improving himself. I get so embarrassed at times because all of my family are OSU fans. I get them to go to an Akron game or look up Zips info on the web and then they get po'ed because Zips fans are calling out Buckeye fans. I can tell none of you are salesmen. It would be like me trying to gain business, so I think it will help me by ripping on the biggest and best competitor in my area because I think it will make people notice me. Usually, all it does is chase people away. Try to not be negative and let the university sell itself. There is no need to rip on other universities (except MAC schools of course), in order to make ours look better. It just makes us look childish and inadequate. zippyrifle32
first of all, don't you mean osu wins until the national title game? people focus too much on just two sports. look else where and you'll see akron beating osu (softball, soccer, rifle, track)
Dr Z
OSU fans hi-jack another post...shocking  back to the topic...ESPYs tell us who's best at being the bestJune 25, 2007Get excited. The 2007 ESPY nominations were released on Monday. Indianapolis Colts fans, your team was nominated six times, more than any other sports entity! Could it be because the Colts won a Super Bowl?Wow, how totally amazing: a chance to win something -- for winning something. Shockingly, the Colts are in the Best Team category along with the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, NCAA basketball champion Florida Gators, BCS football champion Florida Gators and World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals. I tell you, the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks were robbed. And thank you, ESPYs, for telling us that Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson, Tiger Woods, LeBron James and Roger Federer are five great male athletes. I'm already tossing and turning to find out who's the best. Thankfully, ESPN has another cure for that with it's "Who's Now" campaign and its 32-athlete bracket-style tournament set for July. And if you want to know who's now right now, Fox Sports' Best Damn Sports Show Period already completed its countdown of the top 50 current "phenomenal athletes". Their top five included Tomlinson, Woods, James and Federer. The fifth? Simply swap Manning out for Kobe Bryant.Wait, so breaking records, starring in the NBA at such a young age and winning a whole bunch of things makes you a great athlete? Who knew? You know, I was skeptical about Marty Scorsese's directing, but now that he finally got that Oscar, I'm a believer. Sure, Federer can win his fifth consecutive Wimbledon title in two weeks, but it all means nothing if he doesn't get that pesky ESPY.It would be more interesting for the ESPYs to have MTV Movie Award-like categories. Like Best Espy, to either former Rangers outfielder Cecil or undrafted Redskins rookie receiver Mike. The award for Best Coach, Best Hair and Best Waffler all go to ... Billy Donovan. In Best Arrest, it's Pacman Jones over that naked Lions assistant coach (barely). Coincidentally, that same naked Lions assistant coach also loses to Amanda Beard in another category. And a category just for Kobe: Best Beef.My award for Best Reason to Watch the ESPYs: Just to see how they get all those great athletes in one big room (either that, or I hear Maria Sharapova looks great in a dress). I guess as the home of the Academy Awards and American Idol, the Kodak Theatre is used to accommodating several big egos at once.source
