I signed onto yahoo and was reading the sports section of it. It is amazing how many of the college athletes ( who are supposed to be setting examples for youth) are getting into trouble anymore. I wonder what the consequences for these players actions will be. It makes me glad that J.D is now recruiting the players who are football players, students and all around good people. Here are some of the headlines.1.) Gophers CB faces sex misconduct charges.2.) Gopher players arrested in assault case.3.) UGA player charged in attack near Lake Allatoona.4.) U of SC Richardson arrested on drug charges.5.) Former Michigan WR charged with assault.6.) U of Miami QB injured, another player charged in crash.

I know anytime a coach makes a decision to not allow a player to start or keep them sitting for an entire game, the crowd is either puzzled or pissed. But really we should be thanking those coaches. Those little bits discipline will set a precedent if worse things were to occur. I absolutely cannot stand when athletes that are on scholarship have behavior issues, let alone legal ones. Whether they like it or not they represent their entire team, their University and let's face it college sports as a whole. Luckily, the far majority of D1 athletes I know are the epitome of everything a college would want in an athlete that represents their school. Thank goodness.

How do you tell your mom you got kicked out of school for this:

A teammate used a cell phone to record video of University of Minnesota football player Dominic Jones raping a woman who had passed out after drinking too much, according to charges filed Monday against the star cornerback.Jones, 20, will make his first appearance today in Hennepin County District Court, charged with felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct because he had sex with a woman who was physically helpless. The 18-year-old victim had a blood-alcohol content of about 0.30 percent and was unresponsive, according to the criminal complaint.
