This article is nothing new (about DH), but it does make me a bigger Jabari fan.Harvey not with ZipsAn interesting note on Akron is that last year's freshman sensation, wide receiver and kick return specialist David Harvey, is no longer on the team because of academic issues.A year ago, Harvey was recognized by The Sporting News, Scripps/Football Writers Association of America, and Rivals.com as a Freshman All-American for his kick returns; he received honorable mention as a wide receiver.Harvey caught 43 passes for 914 yards, which was third best in the country among freshmen. He also set a school record for Zips freshmen with 10 touchdown catches.Additionally, Harvey returned 17 kicks for 510 yards, an average of 30 yards per return, ranking second in the nation.``It's disappointing not having David, but we all have requirements to take care of,'' Brookhart said. ``Unfortunately, that's the way it is, and we're moving on.''The Zips aren't hurting for a featured receiver who can make big plays and be consistent. Senior Jabari Arthur (6-4, 255) led the team last year with 45 receptions and was second with 730 receiving yards. However, his breakout year was in 2005 as a sophomore, specifically in the Motor City Bowl against Memphis. He caught a career-high-tying eight passes -- two for touchdowns -- while setting a bowl record with 180 receiving yards.Arthur missed spring practices because of a foot injury, but he said he's at 100 percent and ready to be a team leader again.``Regardless of the year or personnel, I go into every game thinking I have to step up and make plays,'' Arthur said. And Arthur, who is from Montreal, has a future at the next level. He was the sixth pick in the 2007 Canadian Football League draft, by the Calgary Stampeders.``There was some speculation that I would be drafted by a CFL team, and truth be told, I was very honored when Calgary chose me,'' Arthur said. ``But I'm happy to be coming back playing my senior season. I'm hoping this will be a special year, and I want to go out the right way. Plus, I promised my parents I would graduate, and I'll get my degree in exercise physiology in December.''
