axeme
Good game, Zip fans. You got us with big stops and the shockingly bad game by our usually reliable kicker. Carry on!
Z.I.P.
Seems to me Akron out-uglied the flushes tonight. Or the Zips were a little more courageous and came up with the big plays when they had to. Either way -- Akron can claim the wagon wheel, but I don't think either team can be too proud of their performance. This looks like two teams that will struggle to win more than three or four games this year. Especially Akron. How did you Sluggoes feel about JD's play calling? Was that conservative or what? Man, oh, man, he makes Owens look imaginative by comparison. Okay let's celebrate. Bring on Cool & the Gang. You know they actually played at UA when I was a student?! zipsbandman
First of all, that was one of the greatest games I've been through as a zip. These three weeks have really been tough, but it was nice to see the the team finally come out with a win, against our archrival nontheless. I also want to say that I was impressed with our students. What a great turnout. The entire endozone, with exception of the band, was filled with UA students. I recognized a whole bunch of them from classes, people I have never seen at a UA football game. Nice to see them come out even after the beatings. I am still very concerned on a couple of things. Our offensive line was terrible in the first half. There were no holes to open up a running game. Can't State blitzed and blitzed and had #5 running for his life. We just were not able to get a drive going. We were lucky Can't had not much of a passing game because we just could not stop the run on defense. Hopefully, the guys have something to get motivated about, and we can salvage something out of this season. The Can't State/UA rival is in great shape. 25k showed up, and if both schools had better teams, I'm sure the place would have sold out. I will look forward to this game again next year. If that's the best post you got after that game...it really makes me wonder. You missed alot. Great game by the Akron D!! Way to shut the critics up (me included)! Cribbs is awesome...but just one man. More later. Time to sleep. BTW: Any help on fixing our OL is appreciated.
