Captain Kangaroo
I never thought much about it, but having Rothlisberger as the Steelers QB won't hurt JD in selling the MAC to WPa recruits. BTW: Did anyone notice 1-AA Furman took Pitt to OT Saturday! Click me
JP Morgan
During the Pittsburg/Miami game, the commentators were talking about Rothlesberger and the MAC. One commentator said something like this, "....the MAC is a great aquarterback conference with some good teams like Marshall, Western Michigan, and Akron." Kangaroo Craig
I do not understand the argument that everyone tries to make about players that come out of the MAC are unproven because they don't play against so called "top notch competition". If the media is going to make that argument, then why don't they also say that MAC players who achieve lofty goals are better than those from BCS schools because they are also surrounded by 10 inferior players. After all, anyone could look good when they are on a great team. As shitty as Ringer is, he would probably rush for 1000 yards behind OSU or Michigan's line. Why don't they ever look at it both ways? The reason why MAC players succeed in the NFL is because the NFL does have a clue when it comes to identifying talent. I take that back. Every team except for the Browns. What a piss poor game against NYG. War Charlie Frye going to the Browns next year!
zipper
Captain, I not only noticed Pitt was struggling against Furman, but took it one leap further and wondered if JD was a big part of their past success.
