zipper Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 Boy do we look gunshy about celebrating a win on this board. Granted, Buffalo is not too good so maybe the win is not a good indicator of our improvement, but it would appear we are slowly getting our act together. And Charlie looked much more confident than in the past. We'll see, we'll see. But great game Zips. Very good job of taking it to 'em and don't let Central have anything. Quote

Zipsrifle Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 Man, if they would have panned out a little more, you could have seen me at the top of the goal post! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we won, and by a big margin. But, I'm afraid the score might be a little misleading. Buffalo gave us a lot in this game and if it weren't for that it would have been much closer. This was a game the we should have won and if we lost, we would have been a laughing stock. I was extremely releaved when UB took out UCF last week. I thought, " great, we're going to have 3 games with teams that won't blow us out. If we have our ducks in a row, we should come out on top". Well, for week one I was right. But I don't know what UCF did but they scared the CRAP out of NIU, a team that handily beat us. I kinda think that UCF was overlooking Buffalo. Anyway, I think we've got a LOT of work to do if we're going to travel to Orlando and knock off FUC. We're going to need continued improvement if we are going to come out on top. FUC does, by the way, have the distinction of being the only D1-A team in the country without a win and also holds the longest losing streak. A loss to them will be a black eye for the Zips. They have faired much better in the games with similar competiton, with the exception of Buffalo. So, to sum it up all I can say is that when you're at the bottom, you don't have much time to celebrate. We've got to keep working hard and hope Charlie gets well this week. I think we're going to need him at his best. Quote
