Not good. Quote
Dale Carnegie Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 The game is on ONN for those that live in Ohio but don't get WUAB. Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 43 just gave a little explanation.Apparently CJ violated an unspecified team rule. Thats why Jacquemain is starting. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Any updates? I'm stuck at work. Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 There's the John Stec we all know and love. Getting off wobbly floaters that go about 30 yards or so. Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 zips 3 and out...uconn 3 and out...zips 1 first down and punt...uconn ball 6 min to go in the 1st q. Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 There's the John Stec we all know and love. Getting off wobbly floaters that go about 30 yards or so. Yep...nothin like a 38 yarder with a BIG akron bounce and a 28 yarder that also took a zips bounce to get that far. This could be a field position game, and stec could very well cost the game with those kind of kicks. Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Any updates? I'm stuck at work. Akron 3 and out on the first drive.Stec gets off a wobbly punt that gives the ball to UConn around the 40. But they can't get anywhere and have to punt on 4th and 1 (although they got a pretty bad spot on a busted play where the QB scramblled out of bounds).Akron picks up one first down on the next drive, but stalls out on a busted play where Jacquemain had to run all over the field on 3rd and 2 and eventually lost 3 yards. Followed by another wobbly Stec punt.UConn has it around the 30. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Thanks, QuickZips. I'm still trying to scrounge up a radio that gets a decent signal, or find a TV. Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 UConn another 3 and out. Defense looks stout. Jones takes the punt back about 30 yards from the 7 out to around the 35. Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 another 32 yard punt...this one with a 23 yard return. JD...special teams? Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Another 3 and out for the Zips after Jacquemain loses 9 on a sack on first down. Stec's punt a little better, but the UConn return man split about 6 Zips who, apparently thought he called for the fair catch and turned it into a long return into Zips territory. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 I just found some stats regarding our WRs.RECEIVING REC YDS AVG TDJabari Arthur 26 338 13.0 3Stephon Fuqua 8 55 6.9 0We really need some more targets out there. Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Zips defense gives up one first down, but holds tough and forces another UConn punt. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Ah, finally found a TV. Thanks for the updates guys. Jaq is holding on to the ball too long. Quote
LosAngelesZipFan Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Is there any place to watch the game online? The Athletic Dept. really needs to include online in its listing of media. Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Jabari is the man! 1st down! Quote
ziptrumpet87 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Jabari again... 1st down again in the red zone... Quote
Quickzips Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Akron moving the ball nicely and finding some momentum at the end of the first. Inside the redzone w/ second and goal from the 9.Jabari has been HUGE on this drive. Drew the pass interferance to start it off and has had 3 big third down catches. Jacquemain is doing a nice job throwing the ball on this drive. He hasn't missed a pass thus far in the game. The only problem is he's taken 3 big sacks. A couple because he's held the ball too long. Quote
RowdyZip Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 punch it in, zips! 2nd and 8 from the 9 yd line! Quote
