Zips beat Bulls 1-0, take MAC lead

Recommended Posts

Despite steady rain, a season-best crowd at UB Stadium (562) – including a good contingent of Zip fans – witnessed the 16th-ranked Akron men’s soccer team defeat home-standing Buffalo, 1-0, Friday night.http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_...;ATCLID=1290056Their best attendance of the year was 562, and about half were Zips fans. Twenty-five AK-ROWDIES made the four-hour trip by bus (myself included). The rain was steady and soaking, but it never dampened our spirits. Hopefully more Zips fans make a showing tomorrow for football. Winning over those canadians twice in two days and taking posession of first place in the MAC both times would be awesome. The Zips schooled the Bulls with excellent footwork all night despite the slippery playing surface. Good stuff that should make the highlight reel on some soccer channel. Now, it's off to rest up for tomorrow. It's 1:17 AM, and Buffalo blows, :screwks: , and Ball State swallows.GO ZIPS, Conquer Canada!

LOL! That's a good one -- especially as when I was a Zip, about half our team was from the Toronto area. Though many were Portuguese immigrants, such as Joao Pereira, the all-American Canadian international.
