mollautt
=>Chuck Landon actually has something interesting to say... http://dailymail.com/news/MU+Sports/2004111620/ So, although the College Football News is projecting only 57 bowl eligible teams for 56 bowl slots, Marshall appears to have fingers-crossed, at best. I hate to say it, but it is really worth the read in discussing the landscape of college football bowls. Akron or Marshall? If only 57 bowl eligible teams, who goes bowling if Miami beats Akron and the Herd beat WMU?
Guest ***GUEST_RACER
does the runner up in the mac champoinships game get the motor city bowl, or can they pick another mac team? akron could end up 7-5 with a win over miami, and a loss in the championship. i would think (win%) there would still be other mac schools with a better record.does anyone know? GO ARKON!!!!!!!!
mollautt
=>Only MAC Champ is assured a bowl. It could be either GMAC or MCB. MAC Champ does not have to go to any particular bowl.
JP Morgan
Anyone interested in researching this one: What if Akron and Miami TIE? Who goes to the MACC then?
Captain Kangaroo
Anyone interested in researching this one: What if Akron and Miami TIE? Who goes to the MACC then? Ummmm....they've had overtime in college football for about 6 years. Dude, you gotta get out of Mahoning County.
JP Morgan
CK, my understanding of the overtime rule is that there is only 3 overtime sessions? If no winner then it's tie?
Captain Kangaroo
CK, my understanding of the overtime rule is that there is only 3 overtime sessions? If no winner then it's tie? After the 3rd overtime period you are forced to go for 2 points on TD's. There are no more ties in football...just like there's no crying in baseball. I maintain: You gotta get out of Mahoning County.

There are no ties unless an act of God or something stops the game. But if there was to be a tie, Miami should get to go to the MACC on principle!
