Anybody have the official attendance numbers? We may have had a sellout crowd. There were at least 120 Rowdies that showed up.
It wasn't a sellout, the radio postgame mentioned 4,090 (or there abouts).Great crowd though everyone was loud and into the game!
There was no way there were only 4000 people there. It seemed like much more.

Tonight I believe I also saw a high school junior whom we're recruiting named Zeke Marshall. (I think that's his name.) He's from the same high school as McNeese. He's 6-11, 210 lbs. and has also been offered by Virginia & Virginia Tech. He picked a great game to come check out our program! Go McNeese! Go Zippers!
Yes. Zeke was there, along with another high-profile recuit. They picked a good night to show up.
Do you know the name of the other recruit?

Not off the top of my head. The Rowdies were chanting for them near the end of the game.

Went lurking on Miami's forum before and after the game. Before the game Akron couldn't compete because we played a "cupcake schedule" and were just a bunch of "crybabies". After the game we won because Bramos was "sick", and McNeese hit all the threes he is ever going to hit in a lifetime in tonight's game.Gotta love those sweaters .... even when we shut them up with a blowout, we can't really shut them up.

Here's a great quote I found lurking:

dudis41 said:"Surprising, McNeese is not a good shooter."
Another good round on McNeese:

He was never a good shooter in high school. In fact he was a terrible shooter. Figures.
well he was first team all state after averaging 28.4 points, 8.0 assists and 6.9 rebounds a game
And the best quote from the dignified and refined Miami fans:Penno4thewin said:
The best part is (I spent forever and a day looking thru all their posts and what not) is not only are they classless....but not ONE SINGLE MENTION of the fact that they did get a second chance....AND--------tossed the ball out of bounds!! I'm glad that Akron got "screwed." If they went to the NCAA's last year I honestly think they would have gotten creamed, then found another thing to gripe about. They are a bunch of cry-babies and weather pending I have no choice but to go. Even my girlfriend who hates sports (but sportingly came to MAC title game last year) wants to go just laugh at another Akron debaucle.
I was so glad to see us pound them into the ground tonight! Great, Great game!

The other name the rowdies were chanting was "reggie." I have no idea who this is referring too...
I was not there but i am pretty sure they meant reggie witherspoon (Buffalo's coach). He is such a character and the rowdies have always had fun heckling him everytime he was at the JAR.

It was not in reference to WITHERSPOON!!!, but to another recruit. I know this for a fact.

All I can say this morning is WOW. That ten minute stretch to close the first half was beyond a doubt the best hoops I have ever witnessed at the Jar.The good:Mc Nees : I stated here last week that he may already be the best guard on this team. Fantastic performance.Wood: his ball skills have improved dramaticaly. Everytime he was doubled he kicked it to an open teamate for an open shot. The behind the back slam brought the house down.Dials: What may get lost in the headlines is that Nick did a tremendous job on TPollitz last night. He completely frustrated a great player.Linhart: Same smothering D administered to Bramos. he was stuck on 0 until nearly the half way mark in the 2nd half. Nate has locked down multiple game 30+ point scorers the last two games.C McKnight : Finally some productive minutes. I really like this kid but his growth as a player has puzzled me. He needs to be more aggressive and step it up. He has all the tools to do so.Zips fans: The intensity of the crowd was right there with the Can't game. They knew we had to have this one and they responded.Negatives:Not a one. This team is gelling and getting better by the day. Too bad we have to wait a week for the next game.Charlie.jpg We Can't stop 'em boys, start up the bus.

Wow. First time I've had a chance to see the Zips in person this year. Picked a REALLY good game.Gotta start off with McNees. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from him this year. I watched the live feed from Dayton and he looked competent enough out there, but I was NEVER expecting anything like that. He still makes some mistakes here and there (the alleyoop pass to Quade that went about 10 ft. over his head) but then again so did Dru Joyce. If he can continue to develop like that...watch out MAC.I kept seeing Dials on Tim Pollitz down low and thinking, ohh god, this isn't good. I figured it was a bad mismatch caused by a mistake on defense. Then I get in the car to head home and here French talking to Dambrot about that and it was actually the plan. I don't know where or how Dambrot came up with that idea, or what the theory behind it was, but it was effective. Pollitz got his opportunities here and there, but he didn't kill us by any stretch of the imagination.Linhart plays lock down defense and it is a huge boost to this team, but every time he takes a shot I cringe. He takes some of the ugliest shots and a lot of them aren't even close to being on target. He did have that big 3 to end Miami's mini run in the 2nd half, but everything else he put up was just a total head scratcher. We REALLY need someone else to step up inside other than Wood. C.McKnight played a few quality minutes tonight, but not nearly enough. Milum was his typical self, a few rebounds here and there but still too skinny and frail to be the banger we need inside. First I had seen of Bardo and I wasn't impressed at all. He looked lost out there and it doesn't look like KD trusts him at all yet. We are gonna need Sweich to step it up next year or we are going to be just plain awful at C. Where was Brett McKnight? He didn't come in until garbage time at the end. Is he one of the first guys getting cut out of this 11 man rotation???Cedrick had a horrible night offensively. It happens. He'll bounce back. At least McNees stepped up.Wood was a beast inside, that reverse dunk was the nail in the coffin, and it happened in the first half. Only complaint I have on him was the FT he took in the second half. He started chatting it up w/ a Miami player just before the ref handed him the ball, then he rushed his shot and boinked it hard off the back iron. Jeremiah is never going to be a great FT shooter, but a little focus would go a long way.Final thought. This team pretty obviously lives and dies by the 3 ball. When Dials, McNees and Cedrick are knocking them down we are darn near unstoppable. Stop our 3 point shooting and we have to rely on Wood who, I hate to say, can't do it all himself.

One of the quotes from Coles that I picked up off of Rasor's blog...
McNees, wow. No mercy. The thing I hold against him — and I’m mad at him — we didn’t beat him last year. What does he have to be mad at? He was red-shirting! His baskets should be stricken from the game.
Coles always makes for some pretty good quotes. I always enjoy his gamesmanship. As students taunted him and his team out of the tunnel, Coles turns around and shows his ring finger. He'll definitely interact with the crowd.
