Captain Kangaroo Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 I saw Toledo got two OL's (from Hoban and North). Pitt got the kid from Buchtel. The City Series POTY is from Garfield...haven't heard where he's going? Doen't appear there's a snowballs chance of getting Brinson. Wonder if there will be any Akron-area kids signed by JD in February? Quote
zff Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 I was thinking the same thing Capn'. One thing you have too look at is some if not most of thses kids are lookingfor a chance to get out of Akron. Not that they don't like it here but a chance to go some where else plays a huge part in their choice of colleges. JD and staff have a tough job ahead of them. Quote
GoZips Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Perhaps JD and the gang need to be scouting the Toledo/Detroit area for talent. Since our local talent wants to leave home theirs may too. I agree that there is a far better chance to play as a freshman at EMU than at Akron. Some of these kids will come home in a year or two. Losing is not a good taste. Quote
Guest ***GUEST_Z.I.P. Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Here's the first "local" player I've seen listed as "offered" by Akron: Taylor Porter 6'4" 235, DE, 4.7 speed; Marlington HS (Alliance) 1 star. Offered so far only by Akron and Youngstown. Quote
Big Zip Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Listened to Kenny Roda yesterday with Paul Lemming (I think). He said this was a down year for Ohio on the whole. Quote
