Valpo Zip
What year is that for?Do we have any scholarships left for this year?Even next year, we are targeting a big guy, i think Zeke Marshall or Regie Keely (sp?)... What am i missing? Are the coaches planning an extra scholarship if Conyers leaves?
GoZips88
QUENTIN HARDINGMcKeesportGuard, 6-4, SeniorAn explosive scorer who has a penchant for getting to the basket but can also pull up and drill jump shots, Harding scored 15.6 points per game in always-tough Section 2-AAAA this season. Also a solid defender, Harding was often given the responsibility of guarding the opposing team's premier outside threat and, more times than not, locked him down. Division I schools such as Akron have shown interest in Harding, who has yet to decide on his college plans.A guard with some height who seems to be the kind of guy defensively KD likes. I, too, wonder where KD is getting the scholarship. Who's got the inside scoop on this one?

It could be that the Zips were the most noteworthy team to contact him, so he threw our name to the press?
Captain Kangaroo
If the Zips did have a scholarship suddenly appear, this is who I'd like to see fill it. He and Humpty could be the "Dru and Rome" of the next generation of Zips fans?
GoZips
Cap'n, I am in complete agreement with you. Six-seven Ray Chambers is a stud player worthy of playing Division one ball. Several D-I schools have eitheroffered or shown high interest in Ray. Chambers is a senior this year. Which means he would be a freshman in college in the Fall. From what I read about him a few weeks ago he has not successfullypassed his ACT. Typical of some kids, his school work is satisfactory, but has struggled with the ACT.If any one cares to do the research I think you will find me singing praises about Ray as early as January including questioning coach Dambrot on the air duringone of the spaghetti fest luncheon buffets. He is not likely to "walk on". Chambers has scholarship offers from Wright State and probably Ohio U and Miami of Ohio. This means that a current scholarshipplayer at Akron would have to vamoose. I think it is safe to say that at least one player is considering seeking his fame and fortune some where other than Akron.

He will be a walk-on for one year to get his academics in line before receiving a scholarship.
gozips19
i'd assume that he'll go the juco rout if he can't qualify for d-I this year. athletic kid. hope (for his sake) he can qualify.
