Quickzips Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 This picture has been floating around for a while now. As of now it doesn't seem like there is much more to this than wild speculation, but you never know. The football stadium started off essentially the same way back in the day and look where we are now. Either way, I'd say we're around 5 years away from seeing any kind of major movement on this front if it's going to happen at all. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 The only thing I don't like about it is the Mayflower still standing there. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 I like the idea of keeping the Mayflower IF, IF, AND ONLY IF it can be converted to a dormitory for UA students or apartmental units. Just telling it like it is, but the crowd that resides there now is an absolutely perfect way of keeping young people & families w/ money to spend OUT of the immediate area. Quote

This will be obsolete, following the completion of the stadium. Will UA keep this around for intramurals? Would there be room here for an arena to make a full sports complex? What're everyone's thoughts? Quote

What're everyone's thoughts?I would put money down that they keep it because they're not going to want to have the team practice all the time on the game field. They rent out facilities and it's easier to keep things maintained for game time when they limit the use of it. I would bet that football still uses the practice field as much as they have because it is exactly that - a practice field. Quote
