I have heard that some of the football team played in a few non-coached, non-mandatory 7 on 7 scrimmages against players from YSU and Ashland last night. Has anybody heard anything about this? I heard that the offense looked pretty good for this time of year.

Considering YSU and Ashland aren't D-IA (or whatever the heck it is called now), I would hope the offense looked good! Had this been against a few MAC or BCS level opponents, I'd be impressed.Nice to see the team has enough leadership to put something like this together without coach involvement though. When talent differences are marginal (as in the MAC), things like hustle, team spirit, and leadership can make the difference between winning and losing on a weekly basis.GO ZIPS!

trimmy you make an excellent point.i just don't think the talent level from the top team to bottom team is that much different.if you look at cmu last year.they lost to a 1-aa team, and gave up 70 points to clemson.
