I don't know if anyone saw this earlier today but US Soccer announced the fourth round pairings for the US Open cup (MLS teams enter in the 4th round) and the Crew will be playing the winner of the Dayton Dutch Lions/Indy Eleven third round match-up. The site? None other than First Energy Stadium in Akron. These Open cup games don't typically draw well so MLS teams often play in venues other than their own stadiums, as a way to try to expand their fanbase. The game will be play sometime between June 10-18, with more details to be announced after the third round game on May 28. Please stop trying to paint this tax as just a way to get the Zips basketball program a new arena. The sales tax is supposed to generate $20 million a year. The arena will get $7 million and the county will use the other $13 mill to finance the jail and other county operations. That's a 35-65% split of revenue. So if you can accept the $59 per year cost to the average household that means less than $20 per year for the arena. Less than the cost of one trip to Mickey D's for a family of four.

Indy beat Dayton 5-2 so it will be Columbus vs Indy at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Did anyone read the Beacon article today about the little going-away party for Tressel? I wish I could have attended. I would have been celebrating too. Very interesting that the article indicates that it's still being decided whether someone will be put in his position. And that several administrators will take on his "responsibilities" for the time being. Wow...what a surprise!! Is this big charade starting to make sense to a few of you now ?

The date for this is June 17th at 7:30...which is a Tuesday. Better than nothing I guess. Who will be joining me at this game? Lot 9 tailgate? Hoping some fans from Columbus will make the trip so we can try to put on a good show for them. I think this game will be especially cool for Chad and Wil.

They got the W today I noticed too, that's always good to hear. I will definitely be following for updates.
