What a load of BS. Mississippi State started 19-5 that year and was rated #20 in the country before losing 6 of 8 to end the season. 3 of those losses were to 100+ RPI teams, so to even suggest it was the loss to #55 Akron is just foolish.Let alone that Stansbury is out there warning other coaches not to play Akron. It's laughable and you must think we are all stupid. Label it as TRUTH if you want, but most of us smart enough to see past it.

That argument has been ended here for some time now. No one is asking for that. The current discussion is about trading at least one cupcake home game for at least one more away game against a high major with the idea that this will help better prepare the Zips for winning a first round NCAA tournament game. That's not an unreasonable request and is worthy of fair and open discussion.

A few additional items I should have mentioned. 5. Victor Souto has matured IMMENSELY this season. At Georgetown, Maryland, and again last night, I saw Victor take some sh*t that would have lit him up last year (or even back in the Spring). The Buckeyes tried to set him off at least once, and he didn't take the bait. What a difference it is this season to have Victor in all of the games for all of the minutes. I'm so proud and impressed by what he's doing on and off the field this far from home. 6. This team has matured so much from last season. When we went down 0-2 vs St Louis, I had a confident feeling that the Zips would come back and find a way to win. When they cut it to 1-2 at halftime, I just knew they'd do it, and they did. I know they can win this year. I BELIEVE. I'm hoping they will, too, and do what each of them needs to do to make it happen. GO ZIPS!!

All I need to know about the ABJ (the Leaking Urinal is what my Dad called it) is that they continue to employ GT, a self-loathing, Akron-hating writer who is unable to write complete sentences. I love it that the PD, which doesn't charge for online content, now features many Akron stories. Between akron.com, thedevilstrip.com and the PD, I can get plenty of Akron news and have little need for ohio.com.

Well said, Zip_ME87. I love this team as well. Next week will be a true test of what this team is capable of. Flying out to California and playing a tough cal santa barbara team ...3 days after battling a top ACC team....will be a tremendous challenge. This team shut out an excellent Georgetown team and Georgetown, 2 days later, scored 3 against UCLA. This team can achieve great things. Soccer is an unforgiving game and it always takes 90 minutes of unrelenting passion. I believe this group will grow from last night's game
