Our two best shooters each go 2-10 and you get on here talking about Tribbles shooting… stating the obvious. What is it with you guys lol kids tough as nails and does things not many people on earth can do at 6’1-6’’2 and you want to give his job to a freshman you’ve seen 3 mins of.

Tribble had around 10 offers from schools like Toledo NKU Kent State IUPUI Ball state Youngstown state Stony Brook and OU when boals left Stony Brook to come OU there were a few others too.. Cincinnati, Morehead state, Chattanooga.. so saying he only had 1 offer is spreading misinformation.

If we’re being honest Groce has missed on recruits more often then not the past few years as we have players on scholarship that can’t crack the rotation. Aziz transferred in April they had the whole summer to fill that hole and never addressed it. I won’t tolerate the GT slander because he’s come in and contributed to winning as a 17-18 year old freshman and because he’s not a shooter has to take criticism. A player can shoot 10 3’s go 3/10 and be damn near considered a sniper lol you can’t even compare that to a player only taking 1-2 3’s a game. It makes a difference when coach gives you the ball and says take whatever shot you want.

Bad take. Tolu Smith put 30 on Freeman’s head with no resistance and you get on here talking about guard play and 3 pt shooting. Miss St played lineups with 6’8 6’8 6’11 on the floor at the same time while we at times had X GT and Clarke in the game together it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why we lost. You didn’t watch the game and you have no business stating anything about who’s barely a d1 caliber player. Groce dropped the ball not bringing in any size. Love freeman to death but he has limitations at only 6’6 he’s not really a 5 and it was lazy of the coaching staff to rely on only him knowing the way teams will defend him.

I love how every year so many people on this message board wishfully throw random newcomers in the starting lineup over Tribble and he still earns the spot. Happened with Maishe and then again with Walton now we’re here again with Hankerson. What games have you been watching. With our season on the line Tribble had the ball in his hands for a reason. No one can stop him when he gets downhill. For a guard 6’2 and under his FG% in the paint is pretty good. I’m noticing no one is bringing up how Castaneda tried his best to give Buffalo the game late even though he carried us early. Groce gets paid the big bucks for a reason. He knew what matchup to go to when the pressure was really on.

I’m late but isn’t this a UA message board lol are you guys fans or what it got pretty negative and dark in here have some faith in your team they found a way to win. That’s what helps in March, a team that never throws in the towel.

The year Covid ended our tournament run we had a big 12 and a ACC team on the OOC schedule. Not bad.

Didn’t agree with some of Groces philosophies.

I think the team is better off without Walton. We can get plenty offense from the guys we have. Trimble and Ali have shown they can go off. This is the first time Groce has consistently put Tribble in high ball screen situations and he scored or assisted on about 75% of them we’ll take that. I never was a fan of the one year rental for a player in his 7th collegiate basketball season when we have talented guys on the roster who are invested in Akron basketball.

I know we’re eager to get the season going but we can’t get too ahead of ourselves and read too much into a glorified scrimmage. Tribble didn’t take a 3 so no idea how you came to the conclusion his shot hasn’t improved. XC and Ali gave us nothing. Nobody really stood out or impressed, that’s one of those games you chalk up and move on from
