With Coach Smart at the helm? I doubt it. That man comes from a pedigree that simply will not allow for an arrogant mentality. It will be interesting to see if their demeanor changes, however, once the Butler and St. Louis games come out. It might give us all a better idea of where VCU stands nationally in competition.

According to CBS's interview of Chairman Bobinski right after the bracket was announced, hte difference between MTSU and the others like TN and KY was "their ability to win on the road." Their few road losses were not bad losses. Their RPI was good, record was good, etc. It flat out came down to winning on the road.

From what I've been able to search, two possibilities look like The Post Bar (which is right across the street from the Palace and could be super busy) or, just down the road, a place called Hoops (it's like a blend of Manny's and BW's).

Road trip Thursday around lunch up to AH. Then the in-laws live 35 minutes from the Palace so spending the night there and taking off Friday! Wooot woot!!!!

The best type of team to handle the havoc defense--which tires, confuses, and frustrates opponents--is one with a deep bench. The substitutions can get frustrated and tired players off the floor. Akron's size advantage will be a further barrier to VCU's FC press and will tire them out. I really like this matchup.

Looks like DJ will get a chance at some face saving in the NIT. They travel to Denver. I like their chances, actually.

I tell you what, I am a little sick of the negativity on this thread. 1. We KNOW this team, have film on this team, and KD can make a great gameplan. 2. This game is in freakin' AH. We were thinking Philly or KC. So our fans will be there in throngs. 3. Say what you want about the greatness of VCU - they beat us BY ONE POINT even with all those TOs mentioned previously. 4. Adversity? I dunno, from what I remember we lost our starting PG, best 3-point shooter, and co-leader of the team one week ago. Yeah, we blasted OU by 19 in the MAC final. This team has noooooo idea how to overcome adversity. I was jumping up and down uncontrollably happy and ecstatic when we got the 12 seed v. VCU. We can win this game. Our defense is as staunch as theirs. They just have a cute "havoc" name for it. Oh well. BRING IT!!!! ZIPS RULE!!! I'M F'N JACKED.

Regardless of location, could there be a bus or some option for fans going to the game, and looking to save on fuel and celebrate with others? Wasn't sure what, if anything, they've done in the past.

I'd say that, OR an opponent whose fans travel well - like tOSU or U of M as examples.

That team is flat, out scary good. They have been totally underrated all year. I don't know who I want to play. But I know who I don't. And that's SLU. If we play them, we lose. I'm not afraid to admit it.

It's the AA factor is why we are "underdogs". Not worried because we already proved ourselves last night with awful FT shooting. Turn that around, continue to pound it inside to the VERY HUNGRY Zeke and Tree, slow down the pace of the game so as not to let OU run the floor, and we are good to go!
