  1. Over a 2 year period?
  2. I'm a life-long learner. I really want to read your answer LoyalZIP.
  3. "The Division I Council this week approved a one-year waiver of the annual signing limit and initial scholarship limits in football to allow schools to replace up to seven scholarship student-athletes who leave school after the first term." "The waiver is effective immediately for the 2022-23 academic year only. The overall scholarship limit remains at 85 for the FBS and FCS. And, in the FCS, the limit of 63 scholarship equivalencies also remains in place." Thanks zipsoutsider!
  4. I'd like for him to post a link to where he's getting his info about a temporary scholarship cap change.
  5. Incorrect information.
  6. There are 117 players on this year's roster. Sixty percent (60%) would be roughly 70 new players in year 1. Explain to me how that can happen within the recruiting and transfer portal rules, please.
  7. No point to make other than 27 guys were committed to the sucky program for reasons other than scholarship money. I commend them for not quitting. Obviously, they're really anxious to play football. Sometimes desire trumps ability. 90 and not 85 as the rule states?
  8. Curious...how many players on the 2021 roster were not given a scholarship or a damn dime for their commitment to the team, encompassing; practices, team meetings, personal time sacrifices, summer camp, weight training, mandatory study time, ....? I haven't found the number anywhere I've looked.
  9. As part of NCAA rules, teams can add one player to their incoming recruiting class for every departure to the transfer portal, up to a maximum of 32 players via incoming freshmen and transfers so long as it doesn't push them over the maximum scholarship allotment of 85.
  10. Who says so? Arth and company? We've already seen that they were poor judges of talent as I've mentioned before. I don't think you'll see the roster turned over completely. Dismiss the whole team and start over? Not likely.

  12. If a coach brings in a player, he mostly will be biased toward him. He plays him because it justifies his choice. Human nature. New coach recruits have the advantage. What coach ever said, "Ya, I brought you here, but there's a guy that's been on the team for 3 years that will start ahead of you?" 😂 I don't think a new coach has a clue who he's inheriting except for the previous coaches' darlings he's seen on films. I have a soft spot for the guys that didn't quit after the whole Arth-in-charge fiasco.
  13. Bull pucky! You being a man just doesn't understand it. 😄
  14. I hope the new HC re-evaluates each present player individually before going out and hauling in many new guys, not that some aren't needed. How many times have we seen the "bench-sitters" come in and make plays? Our reaction has been, "Where the heck has that guy been since the beginning of the season." Arth and company had their darlings, the rest sat. I hate when any coach only plays his recruits, ignoring the guys that have stuck with the team through all the crap. COVID, coach roulette, rotating QBs, etc. The TEs have had 3 different coaches this season I think. No consistency, no creativity, no efficient use of all players: ex. a player that was recognized in HS for his outstanding play at his position is switched to another. His experience then is lost to the team. Some position play is close enough for easy transition. Others aren't. Then the coaches say, "Gee, he isn't playing well at that position. Bench him." I'm talking in general terms after watching lots of different HS and college coaches. Women are from Venus and men are from Mars! Therefore, I find it hard to understand why men coaches do what they do sometimes. It defies feminine logic. 😂
  15. Waiting and all this speculating is making my pacemaker go crazy! If I die before the announcement, I'll be back to haunt those people responsible for my demise.
  16. Just another blunder of the former coach in evaluating talent/playability. There are other good players yet to be discovered by a new coach
  17. Hell, no! This lady never shies away from chauvinism.
  18. Just wanted to thank the members of Zipsnation forum for letting an old grandma participate and even agreed with at times. Most of you have treated me as one of the guys. To those of you who disliked me posting here...may the hair on your ganuccies turn to steel wool. Here's hoping for a brighter future for Zip football.
  19. So far, everyone is playing nicely. Let's not repeat the bashing of the last thread. 😄
  20. Geez Louise! I'm glad I didn't get involved in this pissing match! Some of you all need your mouths washed out with soap because there were some down right nasty things coming out of your pie holes. So you're frustrated with the team's play...so are the players, coaches, fans, students, and parents. The answer to the team's woes won't be found on this site, regardless of how highly you pride your opinions. The fix is beyond the likes of us and definitely not in our hands. Lighten up. It's a game, a sport. There are more important things in life to worry about.
  21. This is the player I spoke about weeks ago that won't block and should be on the bench. You all wanted me to name him before. Took the coaches 3 games to discover he was the weakest link, took the opposing teams the first series of downs. 😅 He's ba.a.a.ck...
  22. Use your TEs to run sideline patterns. Hit them, they go all the way or get OB.
  23. Get some fresh guys off the bench to rotate in. This DL is tired.
  24. Not if you're soaring!
  25. The Zips are soaring like eagles!!!! Come on defense! Flap your wings!!!
