According to the gozips.com tickets page, not many tickets are left for any of our home games (???)
That Miami-Hamilton game is the hottest ticket in NE Ohio!

When none of your point guards can penetrate or finish it puts pressure on the rest of the team. When they doubled Freeman it led to his 5 turnovers. He needs to be able to pass to somebody off of the double team to an open man. When it happened last night there were numerous quick passes but no guard to make a shot. Groce has to figure out some scheme to get the guards open shots on the double team. Watch the last possession when Tribble got stuck in the lane with no outlet.
I just watched that last possession, Tribble was set up perfectly for a lob to Enrique but he just couldn't see it. There was just too much standing around on the arc when he picked up his dribble. Perfect spot for a timeout, just unfortunately didn't have any

From a stats POV this game seemed very even. I didn't get to watch the game, only listen, but it seemed like it came down to just the turnover battle and some poor shot selection on a couple possessions. 18 TO is pretty rough, we gotta just take care of the basketball.
We were 12-12 on FTs, 8-18 on 3s, and won the total rebounds by 3. If we can replicate these 3 stats, we should win 80-85% of the time.
This team has tremendous potential and is still the top of the MAC. Take care of the basketball, make your free throws, and take smart shots, that is how this team is going to win.

I don't get it. Tavari, Scott and Thornton are all guys that have previously played meaningful minutes. I don't expect any of them to be X or LCJ but the three of them should combing to give us above average point guard play. They also need to be some kind of scoring threat when Tribble is on the floor due to his offensive limitations. I'm confident one of them will step up (much like I was confident Maishe Dailey would come around).
Maishe will always have that game winner against Toledo

I just wish we would spend money on things for more actual fans.
Just one t-shirt giveaway or just bring back t-shirt toss. All I'm asking for.
The Crystal Clinic Ball Toss is also missed lol

Its a shame folks take pride in us being mediocre and playing nobody defending that logic to the core.
Akron football seems to be a lot worse than mediocre

I would have to agree with @zipsrowdy88 I do agree that Charles has been an overall successful hire as AD. He does talk a big talk at times, and that is okay, but it isn't always backed up, which still is a normal thing for anyone to do.
With the OSU game situation, I don't think most people would care if we were to be playing on the road against Fill in the Blank P5 school and it got moved to OSU. If we are being realistic, Kentucky probably was never going to come to Akron, the timing of the move seems unfortunate.
I haven't lived in Akron long, never seen a game at the Rubber Bowl or the Acme Zip game, but it doesn't take much to see that Akron does not support the Zips. There are many avenues UA can go to get more local support and hopefully they are trying it. And most people do say that winning is the cure all to athletic problems, I wouldn't say that is the only remedy look at soccer attendance and basketball attendance, consistently good programs for years and still it isn't a crowd of 5k people every night.
It has to take a lot of change to get to the level a lot of us want to see, but we are still a MAC school in one of the greatest pro sports markets for fans in the country, with one of the top 5 greatest college football programs an hour and a half away. I hope we can improve, and it seems like we have in terms of an athletic department so far. Either way it isn't going to stop me from supporting the Zips

tarping empty stands is thinking outside the box? ok, Charles..
And one of the tarps is the UA Alumni Association! Wouldn’t the whole point of these to be to get money from sponsors?
It looks to me Charles has completely dropped the ball on corporate sponsorship in venue. Crystal Clinic is gone from everything even the JAR scoreboard, the ads on the Infocision scoreboard look like they have been there since 2009, total lack of in game promotions, etc. This is how you make money, especially lower tier athletics. -

How would a neutral site game in Florida benefit anyone? If fans aren't going to games where the actual school is, who is going to go to a MAC game in Florida?

Basketball practice facility is complete. It is a shame that they took away 2 multipurpose courts away from the student body to make this though.
