3 starters above 6'7 isn't something you have often in mid majors.
-
Does this mean possible redshirt for any of our incoming freshman since we have 15 players.

7 seniors next year. This team is loaded with depth.

The eagle has landed.

I just saw Akrons strength coach followed Ali recently on a social media platform. Not 100% sure, but seems like it's happening.

Way-Too-Early MAC Predictions: 2023-2024

Joe Dunn reported that a few NBA scouts were at the JAR when we hosted Eastern Michigan this season. Wasn't a good look for Emoni especially after he got benched for the final 10 minutes and threw a fit. -

I don't think Ali's character was a issue. Seemed like a quiet and chill guy honestly. The exact opposite of a Kent State player.
-
Sounds like a dream come true if Ali would return. This team really could use some perimeter shooting.

Have to say I am a little suprised to see this commitment ( no disrespect). Assuming it may be a walk on scenario similar to Evan Wilson, not sure however. I have seen Zach play multiple times throughout the season. He Is a scrappy and energetic defender with some good 3 point shooting. He held his own defensively against Darryn Peterson this season (Peterson a 5 star class of 2025).

Screen_Recording_20230410_165931_YouTube_1.mp4 Rewatching some past moments from last season and caught this sequence of some kent players on the bench with some words for sammy. Appears one of them said "your ass".

I look at next season as sort of "The Last Dance". Obviously Akron/Groce can reload and rebuild rather quickly, but next season we will likely have a starting lineup of 5 seniors and the last season having a player like Enrique Freeman for who knows how long. Not sure how much immediate success this program can have after this senior class departs. -
Kobe Mitchell transferring to Walsh University (D2)
