Yep, one of the biggest critiques of Moorhead's tenure as head coach at Miss State was horrible culture and lack of discipline. There was a reason he was fired only 2 years into that deal.

Joe took over the second-worst offense in the country and after 3 years of hard work, dedication, long hours and millions in University funding, he transformed them into the fourth-worst offense in the country. Truly Magnificent

JD being promoted would be awful for this program my god.. we're talking about someone who not only would be so out of his league when it comes to NIl and the current NCAA landscape, but someone who wasn't even in touch with the previous era. I mean folks, it was 2011 when he last had a coaching job and mid 2000's as head coach.

Joe is 3-12 in one score football games since 2022, this is a pretty damning stat. What progress has actually been made from year 1 to year 3 ? If the coach is not progressing the program, then what is the point of keeping him under the guise of anything, but we do not have the money to fire him ? Take this with a grain of salt, but two buddies of mine on the team says there's a vibe amongst current players that Moorhead will leave on his own accord by season's end, and one came to play specially for Moorhead in 2023. "My cousin's barber workers with a cousin of a family friend" type grape vine, but for what it's worth hahaha

The AD is far too prideful to admit this hire did not work out and it's not all going according to the plan. He will not fire Moorhead, because he has one of the biggest Ego's you'll ever come in to contact with. Speaking from experience and ask anyone else in Athletics.

And to add to this, Moorhead will not be here in 2 years if there is not a turnaround because he will leave. There was a huge fear he would leave for the Pitt OC job this offseason and the only reason he was given that extension and extra pay after year 1 is because Athletics was concerned he would dip. If we go 1-11 and then 2-10 next year, he will leave on his own terms.

He will stay regardless of whether he deserves it or wins. Arth was fired because he was not the AD's guy, plain and simple. It was not about wins and losses. Arth's team improved immensely over his last year here & had he been Charles guy, then he would have stayed. Athletics does not care about winning, it is about image. We could go 2-10 with moorehead for the next 6 years and he will never get fired. Charles and his admin love the prestige they have ,of having moorehead as their coach. It also is not about the money and contract. They could afford his contract to buy out, they did in the past with previous coaches, when Athletics had MUCH LESS support. They do not want their image and ego to take a hit by admitting Moorehead was a miss.

Heard from Multiple people that Wasel was not exactly a well liked guy around here. Take that with a grain of salt, but still

Great Crowd, New QB Ben Finley looked solid, Bullock still cannot throw accurately passes 10 yards down the field. Special teams were making every field goal. 3rd String QB is Brenden Raggow the Freshman who graduated HS early. He has looked good in camp and right now has beat out Steele Wassel for the 3rd string. Wassel has looked absolutely horrible tho and very disappointing. Everything is riding on Ben Finley
