Getsy has a stronger arm than Frye. That isn't saying alot. I really liked Frye. However, his arm is pretty weak. I don't think everyone has to have an arm like Vick, or Favre, but Bernie Kosar put more "zip" on the ball than Frye does. If he throws 30 yards down field, it is a high arch pass. You think it is 50 yards because of how high he throws it. The telling sign to me was listening to Lee Owens talk about Frye on WKNR last week. The interviewer asked Owens about Frye's arm strength. Owens completely avoided the question. He said arm strength is over rated, and then talked about Joe Montana.

Speed, Speed, Speed. We need speed on defense. Watching our guys take terrible angles, and not catch the Memphis running backs was killing me. I know Williams is a stud, but their backup was tearing our defense up too.

Typical BS for Akron sports. Akron loses more players than any other school I can think of. It blows my mind how many guys are signed to letters of intent, yet never even play a game. Now we have starters that just quit.

Good stuff CK. However, I don't see how you think there will be more depth on the defense next year. We will need 3-4 great recruiting classes in a row for that to occur. I would really like to see someone in the know give a little more inside information on prop 48, transfers, etc. It seems like stuff is going on, but isn't reported. I know that grades, and such aren't permitted for public access. However, this is an "unofficial" board. Things can be posted on here, and be let out. It gets frustrating very often not having a clue what is going on with players.

Luke is very inconsistent. Probably not playing for 3 years is the reason. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do next year. I think he will be fine.

I agree. If we an get 10,000 to drive to Detroit, we should be able to get over 20,000 to the Rubber Bowl. Even more at a nice on campus stadium.

Hopefully we will go bowling again next year, and can compare....

We need more team speed. Especially on defense. This team is too slow. We need more speed from our LB's, and d-ends. Also, I think having Pace back next year will help immensely.

Balaam should get a shot next year, along with Howe if he can be healthy.

Agreed. Don't build a 20,000 seat stadium. 35,000 minimum is needed.

Defense is too slow. Our defenders ran bad angles all night trying to get the ball carriers. Even when we had them contained, they got 5 yards. Hopefully an improvement in recruting will help the situation.

Different recruiting services rank guys differently. Some of them are drastically different too.

Any word on Hight, Garner, or Marshall? Will any of them ever play for the Zips? Those were 3 of the top players in last years class.
