  1. IUPU-FW (Indiana University/Purdue University at Fort Wayne) now to be known as IP-FW probably saved our Zip Soccer program from having to hope at the end of a season of getting into the College Cup as a wild card, because they increased our MAC soccer members to six teams. Kentucky left the MAC as an affiliate member to join another, so that left only 5 teams in the MAC. The MAC has an automatic bid in the NCAA College Cup for this year, but no guanentee beyond with only five members. IF you read about all the changes in conferences regarding basbetball, then you should have picked up on this item! I was quite concerned about how our ZIPS would fare with Kentucky moving on, now I feel relieved. We have no men's tennis, we hardly have a women's tennis program--no locker rooms for the athletes, no courts on campus, or any real plans of having any in the next decade or so, a coach who receives a part-time coaches salary; administration keeps the team because of Title 9, but really doesn't support it, just wants the numbers. That also holds true for Riflery, 75% of the team are female. They are consistently in the top 15-20 in the country, but what support do they receive? If you go on GoZips.com you won't be able to find a current schedule of matches, or even who the current members are, our Sports Information people don't sem to have the time or concern regarding this matter. The SI who had it last year wasn't concerned or took the time to do anything about it either: he no longer has a job, but I'm sure this lack is not the reason he is no longer on board. Let's think about football too, why have 13 teams, because by adding Temple the hope is of getting basketball in the future! Before anyone make a statement, do a little scouting on the 'net, it's easy and one can learn alot. I generally don't reply to anything because it seems to me to be so much garbage and not worth my time, so I just shake my head and smile to myself, but I felt compelled to do so at the time. Go Zipsin soccer, football and riflery too.
  2. From what I am told, Nick may/will play the non-conference games at the beginning of the season for the coaches to view how he reacts. He still may be placed on a medical red-shir status. As stated earlier, don't jump to conclusions. He IS walking with only a SLIGHT limp!
  3. So, O.K., I got the initial wrong, I'm talking about eh BB player who transferred for OSU dude!
  4. Hear through the grapevine that B. Dials is out for the upcoming season due to injury this week. Humm, now who;s going to take him place? Will J. Woods be back as his freshman self?
  5. MT also hired women's soccer coach who has not been very successful. Understand the players don't care for her, but haven't complained to admin.
  6. Last week JD stated in the next few months they would be out looking at stadiums. Dr Proenza is fully commited to a new stadium.
  7. I PRAY Charlie is NOT drafted by the Browns! All through his college years he had to deal with a weak OL. I want him to go where he WILL have a strong OL. Who cares about the Browns anyways. When you look back at the last 10 years, not including when the Browns didn't exist, it was all smoke and mirrows. 50% winners!
  8. who the hell is King Zip? Refers to "Akron U," not UofA, doesn't know the color yellow was picked by L. Owens, copying Green Bay Packers, helmet, etc. The color we have NOW is OUR true color. I like the BB floor. Was he part of the 1500 Monday, I was. I could go on and on, but I just like to read and laugh myself sick at some of the dumb comments posted on the site. I have been reading from the beginning, but just joined recently so I could make a comment if I felt it was required. Today it is!!!!!!!!
