  1. Rookie free agent Chase Blackburn returned an interception for a touchdown in a 35-20 loss in Washington on Saturday, sprained his neck later in that game. Blackburn was placed on injured reserve on Monday.

    ESPN.com 12/26/05

Blackburn started again at Washington and returned his first NFL interception 31 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. He also had six tackles (three solo) and a special teams tackle. But in the third quarter, he sustained a hard blow to the head as he helped tackle Redskins tight end Chris Cooley. Blackburn was immobilized and taken from the field, and the injury was later diagnosed as a sprained neck. He underwent a series of tests and remained hospitalized overnight. Blackburn was released from the hospital yesterday, but will not be able to play in the regular season finale in Oakland or the playoffs.

  2. Too bad the refs screwed you guys at the end.
Because I was at the game I could not see the penalty on the fumble/illegal touching penalty. It was too hard to make out on the jumbotron. Does anyone have some better info on it? The papers didn't say anything, sportcenter didn't even mention it, and I can't find any replay of it on the internet. Would like some discussion on this so I can sleep a little better :mad_flame: .
  3. I agree totally. The organization was pretty bad. I stood in line at the will call window for 40 minutes. What would have happened if it was raining or even colder  ? I know people were not expecting the lines. They were dressed for a football game in the dome so they weren’t dressed for the cold. Luckily I did make kickoff, but I know the hundreds behind me probably didn’t. What did they have, four people passing out the tickets  ? Whoever made the decision to pass out tickets this way is an idiot! For an educational institution to have a setup like that was pretty embarrassing. Let’s hope the stadium or MCB made that call.

The bus situation was pretty disorganized also. The buses were supposed to leave at 9 from the JAR but didn’t even arrive until 9. There was no one there to provide any instruction or answer questions. When we were going to leave after the game, no one new the order the buses were in or if the had moved, etc… As far as I know, no one was left behind. Our bus driver was okay, although he was chatting on his cell phone a few times.

I did appreciate the stop to stretch and eat lunch but the travel center we stopped at had two restaurants. So the 4 buses stopped in at one travel center with two restaurants. That caused some major congestion. People didn’t have much time to wait in line at the restrooms and then wait again in line for food.

One plus is that the bus ride was tame. I was concerned about drunken kids puking :puke: and being rowdy  . I was actually impressed with the behavior on our bus.

All and all, I would do it all over again. Nothing was so bad that I would call it a failure, except the “will call†ticket line. That was completely asinine.

  4. Did anyone watch the show? It was a glorified commercial really. Kind of reminded me of the Buckeyes show FSN has on Sunday mornings. It was nicely done for the most part. Bacon seemed like a stiff. Liked the player interviews, the commerical with Charlie, and seeing the guys getting fitted for their rings. The highlights of D. Williams show he is pretty tough. Of course they showed his best but still looks much more difficult to bring down than Wolfe. I'm sure JD has a plan to "contain" DW because that seemed to be what he was saying. I hate that phrase.

  5. The UA-NIU game will be re-broadcast on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. (EST) on ESPNU, the collegiate outlet for ESPN. The Zips face Memphis on Monday, Dec. 26 in the Motor City Bowl.

Frye is starting QB Sunday vs. Cincinnati.

    12:15 p.m.

    Tony Grossi

    Plain Dealer Reporter

Romeo Crennel changed his mind and announced that Charlie Frye would be the Browns starting quarterback Sunday in Cincinnati.

Crennel, who originally intended to keep his starter a secret, said that

it would be unfair to Frye and Trent Dilfer to wait until Sunday. The coach

broke the news to Frye and Dilfer on Tuesday and told the rest of the team when it reported to work on Wednesday.

Crennel said he would insert Dilfer into the game if he felt Frye were

    "overwhelmed" in Cincinnati.

Dilfer said he didn't agree with the move but he would do everything he

could to prepare Frye for his first start on the road.

  10. Did anyone see the Zips were number 6 in on the Top Ten Plays of the Week? Showed Frye’s pass to Edwards for a TD, MACC final play, and talked about their soccer team's Elite Eight appearance. Berman even went on to say how the Zips were on top of Collegiate Athletics for the week. Made me smile from ear to ear, I thought it was nicely done. :D
