  1. I have to travel to Columbus all the time, but of course, not this week . Oh well, just make up for it with a complete blowout. I mean, make it UGLY!
  2. I had an issue where I couldn't get Live chat to work. I have a new computer too so I was a bit baffled. 1) I checked my operating system and it was a 64 bit operating system. 2) Apparently some machines come with two types of Internet Explorer, a 32-bit and a 64-it. the 32 bit is the default setting. 3) Open the 64 bit version of Internet Explorer and you are good to go!!
  3. I think the issue is the version of Java. Just downloaded the most recent version of Java (Which I already had) so I don't think that is it. I got a message that I need an OLDER version of Java to get chat to work. Nice pressure!!! Maybe. I think it's a combination issue. I have the latest Java, but I'm using Opera for chat. (and the built-in bit-torrent client ) I figured it out. I have Windows 7 Home Premium which has a 64 bit operating system. It comes with two versions of Internet Explorer, a 32-bit which is the default and a 64 bit. I had to simply open the 64 bit and now it works.
  4. Well, that hope fizzled quick. Lets see if we can make adjustments....

  7. Good stop by the D. But if this comes down to a fieldgoal kicking contest, we're screwed!
  8. Thank you for the hold. Can't grab our guys foot!

  10. Our D Backfield gives in again. I look to see pitch and catch a lot for the rest of the game.
  11. +1 Wow.....nice job Igor! All square 3-3. What's your browser? IE8
  12. WOW, got to say, didn't think I would see this when I tuned in. Keep it up guys!
  13. I can't get Live Chat to work. I've got a new machine and the latest version of Java, so I'm just going to keep trying. Got to love how we are stretching the field with these deep passes. When will AA just put his head down and drive forward?
  14. On another note, now that I think of it, if this did go down, could Akron sue the new governing body? I mean, we built a $60 million stadium on the premise that it would help our football team improve with the goal of winning a National Championship. Does a new governing body eliminate or significantly impact this goal? I'm not a lawyer, but it makes me wonder??
  15. Wow, I've actually never considered this. It makes a LOT of sense for the "BCS" schools and if they all buy into it, then yea, they could drop all the non-revenue sports and just compete in the sports that make money, the sports 99.9% of the population cares about. My questions is how will the NCAA react to this? I mean, they are going to lose their cash cows, and probably all of them. If this gets serious, I would expect them to make drastic changes to appease these major schools. I don't see them going down without a fight. What if less than 100% of the "Major" schools buy into this? Say the Big 10, the Big East, the Big 12 and the PAC 10 buy into this, but not the ACC or the SEC? What if 8 of 12 conference schools buy into this? Would we be back to 2 "National Champions?" Do things evolve into a "Mega Conference" with a playoff something like the NFL? The only thing that looks good for Akron right now is to keep the status quo. Anything else, another major confrence expansion, a breakoff governing body, etc. is just bad for us right now. In football we are one of the WORST teams in the country and in BB we are, well, Average. Soccer we're good, but is that really a "Revenue" sport? All the more reason we need to be aggressive in getting the FB program turned around. Makes you think, if things get really nasty, and we do end up in this BCS purgatory, what do you do? Do we sit back and try to break into the new governing body like we moved up to DI-A? Do we throw in the towel and just bail on sports or do we join some type of "Minor League" FCS setup and just live with it?
  16. Yea, right now, I kinda hope attendance sucks. I think only Die Hard Akron fans can watch this crap and come back. Let everyone stay at home, put all the advertising money into paying off the stadium, and we'll do our best to keep this season a secret.
  17. Why do I want to give this guy 3 years of on the job training? IF things click in the 3rd year, this guy is gone at his first chance and we're starting over, again. IF things don't click, we're starting over again. Things are really bad right now, and I mean 1994 bad. I'm sick and tired of losing. We have the best facilities in the MAC and a huge market we can tap into. Get someone in here who doesn't need training and lets turn this turd around! In 5 years, the Info will be your average, run of the mill MAC stadium, if the MAC exists!
  18. UK 54, UA 0. We miss 5 field goals.
  19. This seems to be a decent place to put this, yea we suck, but we really have an awesome stadium. Nobdy wants to see a loser, but if we can put a solid team in that stadium, we should have decent attendance. Our seats are great, I have a great view of the field, exchange street. When the crowd is over 15K, the place starts to get pretty exciting....say that about another stadium. Even with about 7000 people left in the 4th, that place can get pretty loud. We moved into the grass late in the game and it was very, very nice. The scoreboard is awesome and the stadium just feels MUCH bigger than it is. We really have a gem, I expect other schools to follow suit here in the next decade. I just hope we can become a decent team before everyone realizes how to upgrade their stadium to where we are.
  20. After thinking about this overnight, I'm starting to change my tune. I wanted an experienced FCS coach to run the program and we get I-Coach. Things don't seem to be working out so far and I would have expected more than this at this point, at least we should have pounded an FCS team. It isn't happening and I have to agree, 0-12 will be a big blow to recruiting, no matter who you are. If there isn't significant improvement by the end of the year with some wins, we need to boot this guy and hire a winning FCS coach. Hell, GW's coach seemed to have his ducks in a row. Why should we suck for two more years before righting the ship if we can start turning things around a year earlier?
  21. WOW! OK, now I'm convinced that we don't have FBS talent, we have FCS talent. Those guys for GW were not pushovers. They were just as big as we were, just as athletic, just as strong, and better coached. Wow. We had a hard time running on them. When we did open a hole, EVERY TIME AA or NB would do a studder step just before hitting the hole. This slows their forward progress and results in fewer yards. Are we scared to hit the hole full steam??? We can't turn the corner and I am so sick and tired of our receivers not blocking. How many times did I see our receivers try to block by going low and their backs would just jump over them and make the tackle??? COME ON!!! Our guys are slow, when we did get by someone, we didn't separate. When we do pass, it takes so long for things to develop that their guys were all over it! Sure, we did better than last week passing, but it wasn't at will that is for sure. Our guys aren't that fast and don't seem to get any separation. Our Defensive backfield is horrible, just horrible. How many times did their QB roll out, our D backs would bite and go to get him and he would toss it over their heads? They loft one up and we don't turn around to find the ball, we just put our hands up. Their receivers can catch, ours can't. How many times did we just flat out get beat? Can our safety keep everyone in front of them? The ref's weren't horrible, I know a few times we should have been called for pass interference but weren't. The refs gave us quite a few breaks. They could run on us because they could pass on us. Sorry guys, I think we're pretty much screwed this year. I sure hope Coach I can recruit because God knows, we need the talent.
  22. It had a really low angle of trajectory. And two of their d linemen were 3 yards into the backfield. Yea, they had great penetration.
  23. As painful as this is gonna be, I think we've got to give him more time. I'm torn as for the amount of time, but I'm gonna give the guy the benefit of the doubt right now and give him two years....this might change in a few more games. It's becoming obvious that he can't coach, but if he can recruit, does that help us??? I don't know....
  24. Looks like rain tomorrow. We were gonna take the kids. They are just getting over colds and I've been gone all week for work. I told my wife I would go by myself but now she's pulling out the "We haven't seen you all week" card...... I think we'll roll the dice and see what the weather does....
  25. I also have a problem with this here. The stadium is anything but "sterile" it has plenty of character. The problem is you haven't developed any memories in the stadium. That is what adds character to a stadium. There hasn't been anything important (other than opening it) that has happened. Give it time to let the team and surroundings connect with you. Memorable games will happen here. (and as far as support, they have done miles of work and put detail into things, media blitzes are expensive and the budget this year was cleaning up pregame and getting ready to go with STO) That is a great point. I just wish they would have brought the light poles from the Rubber Bowl Thanks for talking me off of the ledge. Now THAT would have added some character to the Info, for sure. Especially if they put them in front of us. And throw in a couple of those trough-style urinals, a couple of stalls without doors, and a bunch of peeling white paint, and we would have really brought some nostalgia to the new place. Oh yes, those sweet Rubber Bowl Memories Think of the lead in that pleeling paint... I also loved the overspray on the windows. Nothing says class like just spray painting EVERYTHING in one pass.
