All of our voters put Can't #3 behind Ohio and Akron. The justification is in the text; Ohio has lost 3 games this season to teams ranked #80, 44 & 13 in the RPI. Can't has lost 5 games to teams ranked #134, 125, 68, 26 & 21.

The last major transfer like this within the same division in the MAC was a guy names Jason Grunkenmeyer. He left Ohio for Miami and broke the Bobcats' hearts in '99 or 2000 with a game-winner in Cleveland. Not sure why Walther chose Ohio, but the Bobcats seem to be happy to have him. The Zips will be fine I am sure.

I think anyone who starts a thread "if we win out" is not being realistic at all.However, let's just say Akron is 24-3 going into a MAC tourney game and is 24-4 or 23-4 I DO think they get an at-large bid.But it won't happen. There's too much talent in the MAC.

This topic has come up on the BG and Ohio boards as well. One fan on the Ohio board pointed out the rise of the MAC's quality in a steady increase in the Sagarin Rankings over the past 5-6 years. This would make sense considering Nick says the talent that MAC schools are getting today is much better than the talent of 5-7 years ago when he started doing these recruiting previews for the MAC.

I think I agree on all of your points there Zipboy. Jay Smith needs to go in CMU. Outside of the run with Kaman his teams have not been good at all.
