Quickzips

Not sure we're learning that much from this game right now. Zeke is a man amongst boys against undersized teams when he can stay out of foul trouble. We already knew that. The Zips are a sloppy team that hasn't learned how to consistently play as a 5 man unit. We already knew that. It's a good thing APB isn't better than their record would indicate. If they were the Zips would be in a dog fight right now.

Yet again, terrible end game management from KD losses us this ballgame. Gilliam is pestering CSU's guards and forcing turnovers, so lets take him out and put Nitro back in who has been invisible all game. Then we have the lead by a mere 2 points and we start trying to take the air out of the ball. 35 second violation results. Then we are down 3 coming out of a TO with 11 seconds left. Tree is out there, which was dumb in the first place because CSU is just going to foul as soon as he gets the ball. But they don't, so what do we have drawn up? A 3 from tree in the corner? Brilliant. I guess you can say this was a better all around effort, but the end result still sucks. This team still has a long way to go.

I have......Shaq and Dwight Howard! lol I could be wrong, but I don't think either has ever shot below 30% from the line like Tree is right now. Not saying they are great FT shooters or anything, but...

From what I have seen from him the biggest issue is that he is falling away from the basket when he lets go of the ball. Poor balance. You get this from kids who haven't played a lot of organized ball. Just simple fundamentals.

Yes, Z already has 1 rebound. I've seen him grab at least 2 or 3, but more importantly, he's scoring, drawing fouls and converting his FT's.

Tree is playing like a man possessed tonight. Him and Zeke have made the biggest impact for the Zips so far. KD has shortened the bench up considerably. I've not seen Egner, Gilliam or Deji yet today. We'll see how it works out.

As soon as the video gets working our guys go into turn it over and give up fast break points mode. Lovely.

I hate to be too melodramatic, but this season, which started with so much hope and promise, is quickly spiraling out of control. I was afraid of something like this happening when we brought in guys like Harney and Tree. Lot's of talent, but can't stay on the floor because of off the court issues. Such is the risk you take with non-qualifiers. It's still early in their collegiate career, but these two are going to have to wake up and see exactly how significant an opportunity they have here. If they don't I doubt either of them will last all 4 years.

Zeke fouls out again. 4 out of 7 games this season. And guess what, our record is going to be. You guessed it 3-4. Now granted we won one of the games Zeke fouled out, but still.

I cannot believe how bad we are on the boards right now. This is the longest, most athletic team we've ever had and we are just getting slaughtered on the boards. We are just getting flat out out-hustled. When you give up an offensive board off of a free throw miss 3 times in one game you have big problems on the glass.

I've said it before and I will say it again. This team will NEVER reach its full potential until Zeke cuts out the silly fouls. He's going to foul out of this one early again. That will make what? 4 times in 7 games this year? And this guy considers himself an NBA prospect? He'll have trouble making a D-league roster if he can't stay out of trouble. And if anyone wants to try to box out on a rebound on a free-throw it would be nice. This is just fundamentals guys. This isn't the tough stuff. Fundamentals.

And Brian Walsh fouls on a 3 shot with .3 left to end a miserable half for the Zips. Down 13 going into halftime. And KD gets T'd up heading into the locker room to boot. Great job guys. This team is sloppy, undisciplined, uncoordinated and out of sorts. Someone needs to come up with some answers pretty soon here because this season is NOT on a good trajectory.

Would be great if we can get this back down to single digits before the half. This team seems like it is too reliant on Zeke cleaning everything up with blocks around the rim, and we're gambling too much on the perimeter which allows easy drives and results in foul trouble for Zeke. I'd honestly like to see us play some more zone. We played a lot better late last year when we switched things up between zone and man. Much the way MTSU is doing to us tonight

I hate to be brutally honest, but people around here aren't very smart. Every year you'll hear the same thing around here. They watch a few practices and are ready to crown a team national champions. I said we'd be .500 at best entering MAC play and everyone flipped out and told me to stop being negative. Well? I don't think anyone expected this level of crummy play from out guys. Even the biggest pessimist on here. This team can't do anything right right now. Travelling, matador defense, bricked foul shots, poor passing, etc., etc., etc.

Pathetic effort by our guys. 28-12 MTSU. They are on a 24-3 run on us right now. This team is not good. Not good at all.

I'm at the point where I am almost ready to say that Miss State game was a fluke. This team just seems to be flat awful right now. We are turning the ball over like crazy, we can't score, we can't defend. If this team is a sweet-16 team then this is the worst field of NCAA basketball teams of all time.

Sounds as if yet again this team is not getting back in transition D. I find it odd that the most athletic team we've had in years seems to be the worst team we've had in a long time when it comes to getting back on defense. Way too many run-outs allowed by this group.

Anyone find any video other than the $7.95 MTSU site video? I can always listen to French and Co., but it is always nicer to have some video coverage.

Well I've had enough headaches for one night. Time to go take some Advil and try to put this one out of my mind. This team (and Zeke on an individual level) will never reach it's full potential until we learn to consistently play defense without fouling.

We are absolutely lost on Defense right now. Not idea what we are trying to accomplish.

We aren't Can't State University. If our guys fuck up, we hold them accountable. It sucks watching this, but that's on the players. I hope Abreu and Treadwell get shit from their teammates all the way home for not doing what they needed to do to be a part of the TEAM tonight. Bullshit You can't compete by looking for ways to kick guys off the team. This is a total load of crap. In the past they suspended Humpty and Brett M. Enough already. What did they do that justifies destroying the entire team? Thank you Mrs. Abreu/Treadwell. Now go tell your son to get his butt to class and work on his homework so he can start playing again. Alex and Tree screwed up. You screw up in life, you pay the consequences. Bottom line. It has nothing to do with trying to win one game in Morgantown or put together an NCAA run. There is more to this game than simply going out on the court a couple times a week for a couple months and competing.

That half had nothing to do with guys being "fresh", it had everything to do with a team that didn't show up ready to play. If we collapsed like that down the stretch in the second half you could talk to me about guys not being "fresh". We still played 9 guys in that half. A lot of teams barely play 7 or 8.

Three things we need to start doing in the second half to have a chance to climb back into this: 1) Ditch the full-court pressure. It hasn't worked for us all season. We've gotten torched by it multiple times tonight and it isn't working at all. 2) Throw in some zone looks on the defensive end. WVU is having too many easy looks inside and going to the basket. Need to take that away from them. 3) Let someone other than Diggs bring the ball up the court. Quincy isn't doing terrible once we are in the halfcourt, but getting the ball up the court has been a struggle for him. Have Nik, Harney, Nitro, Walsh, someone else bring the ball up the court, then hand off to Q to set up the offense.

This team seems to get one decent win and they start getting full of themselves. I've not seen a Dambrot lead team act like that before. KD needs to beat that out of them and soon. This team has too much potential to be playing like this big of turds. I'll be happy if they can get this game back down to a 12-15 point loss at this point. It would be a huge improvement over what we've seen this far. At this point, if Nik is going to act like a spoiled little baby like he has been he can go back to Serbia and make as many babies as he wants for all I care. He isn't hustling on the floor, isn't playing D, is mouthing off at coaches, teamates and refs. Not the Nik I was expecting to see this season.

Our guys have completely lost their composure. I expect better than this out of Nik in particular. You're a senior big fella. Start acting like i.
