I just had time to watch the archived press conference for the first time.She is a very impressive speaker. Obviously that does not absolutely translate to wins, but she talks with more confidence than I ever heard with Kelly Kennedy. I am excited to see how quickly she can get the Lady Zips winning. Was there any word on if any of the assistants are staying on with the new coach?

Yeah, I noticed that.THIS IS A FAN FORUM....are we not aloud to start rumors and speculate? That is exactly what sloopy did and he got shut down for it. Is Akron U running this board?Obviously sloopy had the scoop and someone at the school told the admin to take it off. That is not cool. Regardless, seems like a good hire for the University.

A friend called me Monday and said he heard that Mike Waddell's replacement has been hired. Yet, nothing on gozips.com or here on zipsnation. ANy word out there in cyber land if this is true?

As I think I previously stated in another post at the end of basketball season, I am all for Scott Taylor becoming the new basketball color guy with french. He does a MUCH better job than Joe Dunn and did a very nice job when he filled in for Joe. Would seem to make a lot of sense if he is already traveling with the team. It is nice to have someone who knows the GAME and can explain it to the fans, like we have Stams for football.

Just got home from the softball game via the spring football game. Took the family out to the U. and was happy with everything I saw.Thought the football team looked decent. Getsy was VERY sharp. Jabari is good, he could make himself into one of the top WR in the MAC with his athletic ability. Other than Jabari I was not too impressed with any of the WR's. We do appear to have nice depth at TE and Kasparek made some nice plays. Dennis Kennedy is without question the starter at RB and will do a fine job filling in for Biggs. I was impressed with him. John Mackey had a very good spring game. Smart play, good tackles. Defense looked very good as a whole in the first half.Saw both Charlie and Jason Taylor there. Nice to see some of the more famous alums make it back for the game. On the way out I asked Charlie to take a picture with my kids and he said sure. Very nice. The new video board in the field house is awesome! Crystal clear picture, great addition! Also saw UAM walking around. Did not get a chance to say hello, but was good to see him at the game. On the way out stopped by the new softbal stadium which looks great. Imagine that kind of dedication towards a new football stadium! Would be beautiful, especially on a day like today when spring football should have been outside. Forgot my radio so I couldn't listen to French, did he say why the team was wearing those old white uniforms? The fall can't some around soon enough!!!DEFENDING :macc:

Nothing on gozips.com, wouldn't there be a release by now if a move had been made? I never saw the original post on Rasor's blog, when did it say it happened?I too would be shocked if the school spent $100,000 with only one-year remaining on her contract. My daughter attended her camp and she seemed like a nice lady. Obviously, that doesn't lead to wins. We went to 3 or 4 games this year and never saw a win. At times the team looked lost, but I can't say I saw enough to know what was really going on. Unfortunately, coaches getting fired is part of sports, if this rumor is true, I wish coach kennedy the best and pray this move leads to a brighter future for women's basketball for the zips.

I caught the show as well, and share your thoughts zipboy. Was surprised J.D. was not on the show, but thought Joe Moorehead and Jim Fleming did a nice job getting us updated on Spring Football. Was nice to finally hear what is going on inside the field house. Tommy G's recap of the top moments was awesome. Would like to hear it again. Any chance we can get it posted on gozips.com for those who missed or would like another listen? Where is UAM when we need him? I must say, Tommy has come a long way since he started hosting ZipsLive, does a real nice job. Hope we don't lose him, he is a nice addition to the radio team.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.The ZIPS CAN NOT, I repeat CAN NOT be on WZIP under the current programming format. Don't you like having sponsors such as Pepsi, Papa John's and Summa? If the games were on WZIP, those commercials could not run because non-commercial stations do not run, COMMERCIALS!Steve works for the University, not the radio station, so he can go wherever the programming goes. It will be interesting to see if Wadd's replacement shifts the coverage to another station. However, I find this unlikely since I remember last fall seeing that the U extended their contract with Clear Channel until something like 2009. That doesn't mean other stations can not be added, but it means the games will be on 1350 until then.
