  1. The other constant is those teams that lost him didn't know what they had until he was playing for someone else.
  2. Andy is featured on the home page of the Browns today on his switch from playing D to playing Guard. Here is the link: For Alleman, switch brings opportunity.
  3. Ahh...a thread wouldn't be complete without a Troll-edo rocket comment. You really consider me a troll? Most of my posts here are about positive recruiting news for Akron. You need to pay attention to your surroundings better. My bad...it's the "other" toledorockets poster that I was referring to. My apologies.
  4. Ahh...a thread wouldn't be complete without a Troll-edo rocket comment.
  5. Well today is my dad's birthday and mine, and Andy got HIS present on OUR birthday, so that's good enough for me. Not bad for a player that didn't get All-MAC
  6. You mean D. Harvey?
  7. Don't count on that, the scouts like his arm, and in that case, scouts will overlook a less than stellar college career. Remember when the Browns drafted Spergon Wynn? He was a 1-aa quarterback who didn't even complete 50% of his college passes. I don't think Luke will be drafted but he'll get a shot in camp with somebody. Alleman will probably go late 6th to early 7th based on stellar workouts. Reid is too slow and will end up in Canada. Gonzales doesn't have good size (height, he's not the 6'2 he's listed at, more like 5-10) but will get a free agent contract somewhere. From what I've heard from a pretty reliable source, the scouts that WERE interested in Getsy have backed off an extreme amount. I don't see Luke making it in the league unless he comes out the end of this season against some good teams and make big plays. Reid is slower than last year...but that can improve with speed drills. I heard the Dolphins are looking hard at him. If he can improve his speed, he's got a chance in the 6th-7th round. With his speed last year, he was an animal. Gonzalez is around 6'[, but you're right about free agent chances. I'm interested to see all these boys once they get into post-season workouts. I lot can change within those workouts and combines. Can't wait til that April day comes around! When you stop to think about it, that's a pretty amazing concept, a General Manager from the Indianapolis Colts and a scout from the Geen Bay Packers... coming to the Akron Rubber Bowl to see 3 free agents, and a 6th or 7th round draft pick. Wow, I wonder who they send for people who go on the first day? Seems kinda strange! You know, I think you're right. I think Roger Goodell and four separate owners are required to show up to look at the first rounders
  8. Finish off the BG GAME! GO ZIPS!
  9. Buffalo just won 41-14. Watching the Zips on the internet and listening to buffalo on the local radio here. What a surprise. Can't had 5 or so turnovers.
  10. Ahh...good old Skips barber shop (oddfellows hall), I used to get my hair cut there too. That's less than 1/10 of a mile from my parents house. Well...I guess the new saying should be "What happens in Vegas....gets you into the NFL".
  11. Anyone have the ESPN 360 link for the Miami game?
  12. There's still plenty of time left.
  13. Well...looks like the ol' deadly combo of "360/U" strikes again. Why does ESPN do this? Anyways, hope the game will at least be broadcast on gozips.com and not blacked out because ESPN decided to broadcast it to 4 people on their crappy internet feed.
  14. I just subscribed to Zips Zone a few days ago, I'll let you know how it goes.
  15. Don't care. CMU is next.
  16. So I take it that no one is going to watch the Akron/CMU game online this weekend?
  17. Does anyone subscribe to the All-MACcess pass from either the macsports.com website or the GOZIPS.com website? The URL's are really close (www.nmnathletics.com....) but from the mac sports site the one week pass is $7.95 and the one week pass on the official Akron site is $9.95 for a month. With either of these, can you get on-demand viewing of the game (I may not be able to tune in exactly at 1:00 this Saturday) and how is the video quality? Anyone who can help would be great. The NC State game this weekend was awesome and it was priceless how silent the stadium got on that last drive. Hopefully it won't be as hot in Michigan as it was in NC.
  18. I did not start this league, but I joined it and figured I'd put a link up for it. From Rasors blog:"With the first games of the season beginning tonight, this is your last reminder to join the Buchtelite's college football pick'em league.College Pick'em is basically a season-long contest to see who can predict the most winners of college football games. We have 21 of the most hardcore Zips fans on board. The max is 50.If you don't have a Yahoo account, it takes a couple minutes to sign up. Then you click this link to join the Pick'em private league. The league ID number is 14831. The password is beatkent."
  19. RowdyZip...love the plates. I was at the Buffalo game tonight since I live about 5 minutes from the stadium (they are terrible, but hey...it's football and it's free for me). I ended up leaving at halftime. Their defense looked decent (against Temple) but their offense is horrible. Their kicker missed a 29 and a 32 yard field goal (both after 50-60 yard bombs put them in excellent field position, once on the 8 yard line which turned into a 29 yard missed field goal). It's 3-3 right now and about to go into overtime.I'm just ready to watch some real football...tonight was just a warmup! Go Zips!
  20. Damn! Your right! I totally forgot about that. I have one, but I'll bet that most of the students and recent grads do not. I think it costs about $80 - $100 the first time and maybe $60 - $80 to renew. This will definitely put a damper on ticket sales here in the states! Toronto is the site of the International Bowl this coming bowl season and it's about 2 hours from where I live in Buffalo. In regards to the passport issue, you only need to have a passport by Jan 8, 2007 if you are traveling into Canada by AIR or SEA. You need a passport to cross at LAND borders (i.e. The Peace Bridge here in Buffalo, the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge, or the Rainbow bridge in Niagara Falls) by January 1, 2008. Here is the link from the U.S. Government's travel department:U.S. Border Crossing and Passport Requirements. But we're getting ahead of ourselves...it's a long season and we need to just take it one week at a time and one game at a time. It all begins Sept. 2. GO ZIPS!
  21. I'm sure the "frozen Turkey Bowl" didn't help that. We were thinking of going to that game but wimped out. Yeah...the frozen turkey bowl didn't help at all. I was there with my girlfriend and parents and we stayed the whole game, it took 2 weeks to thaw out. That was the MAC East clincher and it was against can't, two things that would surely bring more people if it had been played a week earlier when the temps were in the 60's during the Ohio game.
  22. I'm finally back from vacation in Denver and I uploaded "The Catch" to . This should get you guys fired up for Sept. 2. Go Zips!
  23. I know Zac personally, I went to the Chapel in Akron with him when I was in college at Walsh. He and his wife are excellent people. I wish him the best of luck.
  24. I will have access to my better computer in about 3 weeks, so until then I can't get "The Catch" edited out of the entire game video file. But I will post it as soon as I can, hopefully in time for the season opener.-DNA
  25. I have the entire game on DVD, and a digital version of it. I will have to cut that play out and post it on youtube, but I will not be around a good computer until the middle of Aug. when I come back from vacation. I will try to get it online as soon as I can if no one puts it up before then.-DNA
