why you got to hate on the only MAC team ever ranked #1 in the nation or the 15 MAC titles or the reoccuring NCAA tournament appearances?

Lets get some donnors in here and give some $$$$ to get a new grass field in. Dont know why the grass is the way it is, but it looks ike shit after their games.

AS you would see at any school with a stadium on campus there are traffic issues that are planned out to direct parking and flow. i streets that are two way become one way on game day, exit only paths and many police helping the flow. there is more than ample parking in our three decks, but i am sure a lot next to the stadium deemed "tailgate land" will be a hot spot.

these guys dont hear about stuff unless they are with in a year of doin some work

What can i say Rumor Mill has it, to get the best info go to the best source....if anything is ever built or going to be built on this campus, PFOC and Electircians know about it.....Lets say they know about a stadium..

DIV 1 athletics MID major school, have you been watching march madness, do you think our womens team was anywhere remotely close to even being in that tournament, do you think they wouold have been next year? the answer is no, so instead of delaying the inevitable Mck did the right thing, you have Akron zips moving up in most sports and making huge advancements, accept W basketball, I was at their game the night of the mac FB championship and i counted 33 people in the stands. College athletics is a Buisness just like college is a buisness, if you want hugs and kisses and everything hunkydory go to D 2 and 3 Way to go Mack if you can get womens on the same page as the mens team you did an amaizing job. good luck.

actualy it is Doug Martin not Dean, and i am sure the stadium will be done right, there is alot involved especially with the city. and it will be better then kents, but kents does have their party platforms that serve beer in the stadium, i see that as a huge plus for student and alumni fans, the few there may be.

it is spring ball shich does not mean much. only important time is in the Fall, see who actually shows up to play.

Akron is a stepping stone, that is not a knock on Akron at all. If you worked at a small law firm and a bigger one offered you more money and prestigue would you make the moveof course you would. The fact that Akron is such a good stepping stone is a good thing. it means we can demand more from those top end positions. plus iam sure the "wad" is gonna take a pay jump of at least 50K

i think the spring game should be $ and include a fear the roo shirt!!! get the name out there even more. But seating is an issue. maybe extra seating is possible

The other reality of the sharing idea is that a pro team does not want a huge roo head in the middle of their field, our answer is to paint it. Then it cost more and does not have that great look everytime you see it. plus a soccer field dimentions are much diff. and you cannot paint out of bounds lines for football. At least this university is not ready to spend that money for each game. so good thought but itll never happen

our last huge comercial showed all the great University asthetic changes. buildings, athletic facilities, great student life areas. this comercial did not show any of that. You could not even tell what school it promoted until the president said the name. i think it was wasted $$$$

i have read many of the replys and some sounds good other sa re rediculous. First off for all who wonder the 20 million raised is not the budget, those who are thinking so need to go back to finance class. The average university requires that 68% be raised before and construction or biding even goes out. So that would put the stadium budget around 40-45 mill. As for a dome this is OHIO Sac-Up Football is an outdoor sport. if you cant handle it go watch the game from a tv. As for the size i agree 20 is small 25-30 is perfect. with the capability of expansion. Akron is not near anything larger. if one game a year fills it then its fine. Wait till we4 have constant 25k+ games then we should discuss going bigger. if a game is sold out then akron as a product gains value!!!!!!!! if the stadium is too big then the ticket value will never raise and that is where the $$$$$$ ultimately comes. i think people should just relax. there is much to go into the stadium. it is in the middle of a city. not an easy task to build with out hidden costs. lets just support the team gain even a bigger Roo following and repeat this years accolades if that happens then the roos will be

Wow some of the stuff here blows my mind. lets be realistic WHEN akron build it will not be a BIG house hole in the ground "city" piping it would be to expensive. think more of southern methodist or uconn that is realistic attaching dorms and shops and hotels? maybe one nice sports club bar accecable from the outside during non game days at the most. lets just get the stadium here and worry about how extravagent it is later.

Fans be realistic at this point in time even if akron won another title and went to another motor city bowl we still would not fill a 30k stadium on a regualr basis, nor fill it enough to look like there is good crowd. 25-30k same size as the RB but with the ability to add another 5-10k if the demand is there. imagine if people had to camp out to get their tickets because we always sold out?? that puts more value on the team the game and the tickets. Value goes up!!! more money coemes into school and the athl. dept. the new AD has a big decision and i am sure it will not be to go bigger than wecan handle. Imaginge the bowl 3 years ago against Can't. imagine if a new stadium was that packed each game or if you have ever seen a Mckinly massilllon game. have a packed house is part of college fB dont get ahead of our selves and take on more than we can handle.
