I think the akron zips this season figured out how to WIN games with what talent they had. This comes from a great coaching staff. If youline us up man to man against toledo i am sure they out size us speed and strength, but what matters is we won! what needs to happen is Akron as a Univ. and an Athl. dept. can not let this FEar the Roo Fevor fizzle away. They need a way to keep it rolling through basketball and into next fall. Akron is moving up. The next big step is to sign a TOP recruit. We need to find away to keep these Nationaly ranked recruits FROM AKRON LOCAL SCHOOLS here!! the only thing that lacks is CONSTANT FAN SUPPORT and a new stadium. Think what the bowl would be like each weekend it the same fans came out that traveled to motor city? this would be a great place to play for.

I MUST SAY will call was a total joke, if Akron wants a fan base and pushes them to support this team, then the crowd gets there and missed the start of the game because they are having ticket issues?????? IT should have been handled better.. hope this does not affect anyt ticket holders???

HOLY CRAP! BEEN a zips fans for years and never Saw anything like the turn out in motor city...That was the highlight for me. The University Athletic Dep. needs to publicly thank all the crazy fans for their support. Zips FB reached a whole new level this fall. We need to keep that enthusiasm and roll it into BAsketball then again in the fall. If the Zippers fight hard every game and can have a crowd like that for home games the Akron will grow quikling into a MID MAJOR POWER! Great game! Was a true EXPERIENCE!

To all the zip fans way to come out for the game you showed the nation the akron has student support. I hope we can try to show the same on the 26th whom ever we play. more than like ly it will be memphis. but for all the zips way to go and play to the end. that was great fb last night.

who has heard their saying this year 3-more feet. That is what JD preached to them in the summer and that is what this season will comedown to. Now i have heard enough of JD not calling a QB keeper at Ball state, yes bad call but no sense to beat a dead horse. This comes down to the team. The best senario occured, BG crushed Miami. if we beat ball state we would be Winning. The zippers need to play every game like last nights. it just comes down to the players being mentaly tough. They should take some tips from M-Soccer who no doubt with a poor draw will win the who thing. zips play hard and beat Can't,

well, noone says if he deserves or does not, BUT m-Thomas was the man, i bet we see a huge escalation at UC because of it. Here is the thing. the University prides its self on educated individuals. Having the MA may or may not prove your knowledge but i guarentee the Univ. of A will accept nothing less.

Everyone has great comments and thoughts on this topic, but the fact is you MUST have a MA to be considered. he is given the interoom position because he is the only one who wanted it. Besides mike thomas was an amazing AD and there is no-one in house that could fill his shoes, there for u of A must do a nation al search to find the BEST candidate.

Mike is a good choice but not a valid candidate. you must have a masters degree to be an AD.

The loss did suck but as Lolla said the crowd of 4400 that is huge! more than our FB sometimes will mimick some of the crowds for the NCAA tourn. and YES we will be in it . We will crush the MAC and move with efficiency through the NCAAs i have no doubts. Not having Ross was a huge loss. but he'll be back.

IF we win all 3 and so does Miami we lose the head to head tie breaker. then where are we?

I want to see more heart on the field. Gene Hackman said it best in the Replacements "miles and miles of heart" thats what it takes to win. Lord know s our soccer team has a sh%t load of it. Go Zips.
