  1. I didn't like what I heard Dambrot say about Nick Dials' knee. He said he's favoring that leg and may get a lighter practice schedule.Still, a terrific win when the Zips weren't playing their best. This game will matter much more in March than January.
  2. It seems that the ABJ will continue its good coverage of Zips sports with the increasing interest from the community. However, the paper has to battle with losing space due to tough economic times for newspapers.I hope the paper continues to scale back Ohio State coverage. I am really sick of reading about the Buckeyes and their long-haired linebackers. But as long as people follow Ohio State in the Akron area, the paper should keep writing about the team on some level. As for mixing up Hight and Terry, I don't believe I did. My source asked to remain anonymous, but I assure you he is one of the most credible sources within the university. He said Marlon Terry is no longer in class. Hight and Cruz will be eligible.
  3. The Las Vegas Sun says UNLV is taking Akron's top assistant, Mario Sanchez. The Zips offered him the top job as well.blogs.ohio.com/rasor
  4. In case you guys are interested, I wrote a little about some of the academically ineligible players that Brookhart signed in 2005.blogs.ohio.com/rasorA lot of people have asked me about it, so I thought this board would be interested, too.
  5. Not that I'm backing the BJ Sports' every move, but they only cover what people care about. If people are jumping on the Zips bandwagon, which they are, the media needs to satisfy their new interest. Being a sports editor is probably the hardest job around. If the ABJ stopped covering Ohio State, like a lot of you would like, its circulation would drop like crazy.
  6. I e-mailed Mack. He seems like a good guy. Official announcement coming Monday. Read more: blogs.ohio.com/rasor
  7. I wrote a bit about recruiting in my blog: blogs.ohio.com/rasor.
  8. This Toledo/BG game is intense. I keep having to explain to my dad why I'm turning off the Cavs game in favor of a non-Zips/Buckeyes/Browns football game. Speaking of the Bucks, I've never cared so much about a non-Zips game since the Fiesta Bowl in 2002. blogs.ohio.com/rasor
